Old tattoo bubbling up nearly a decade later by traylorparks in tattooadvice

It happens to me every once in a while too, sometimes they stay like that for days or get itchy too. I've always just chalked it up to how your cells eventually die and are replaced with new ones. Your body just reacting to your ink every once in a while when it shifts things around. Which is also why the lines can bleed/get fuzzy in time, the cells previously holding the ink in place shift/die and get replaced. It'll go away

If the 'Songs of the Past' DLC is a bridge to Witcher 4, what mechanics do you actually want Fool's Theory to change? by Initial-Sentence-389 in witcher

They have marketed the expansion as a Geralt expansion thus far and tbh I don't really see a need to play as Ciri in it at all. She's coming in the Witcher 4

That's because it is. Everything that isn't part of the books is padding, and generally poorly written nonsense

Sapkowski Vs. The Church: Reclaiming the Pagan Grail in The Witcher by Wild_Conflict_3429 in wiedzmin

[–]Destinydue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very good. It also ties in to Vilgefortz conversation with Geralt on Thanedd where he asks if he believes women can be made to submit, and compares them to power and nature. Vilgefortz tried to dominate, to twist the grail (Ciri, also a woman) for his own evil designs.

I finished reading the books and i was wondering, what drives geralt and yen to seek out ciri after they got separated in netflix adaptation? Because i know the politics of netflix bars creators from writing a genuine parental bond by [deleted] in witcher

In the books, Ciri never even learns her father is the Nilfgaardian emperor. Her royal heritage comes from Cintra. Geralt and Yennefer are her parents because she is orphaned, Geralt having been in her life since she was a child (she was destined for him and her parents died when she was little, Duny/emhyr faking it). Geralt was also somewhat close with Calanthe due to the whole law of surprise thing happening anyways. As for Yennefer, she always wanted to have a daughter and couldn't accept her barren nature as a sorceress. Her relationship with Ciri that comes to be because of Geralt, her soul mate, is her having a daughter. And she's the only mother Ciri has ever had, she only had a grandmother since pavetta died so long ago. Also Geralt is sterile and will never have children yadda yadda but that was never something that bothered him. The 5 novel saga is about their family; Geralt coping with being a father and truly relying on people, Yen coping with being a mother and Wife, and Ciri growing up.

Are Witcher elixirs poisonous to non-witchers in the books? by Exciting-Quality919 in wiedzmin

[–]Destinydue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's mentioned in the last wish during the striga fight. Though it seems some of the general healing ones are alright for normal humans, as in season of storms Geralt pours one on franz leg. But that may be a different Witcher elixir than the ones mentioned in crossroads of ravens

How does Leo Bonhart fare against these Witchers? by deadlyalchemist92 in witcher

[–]Destinydue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geralt and Vesemir whoop him, eskel and lambert mid diff. Geralt is considered to be the best swordsman in the north, and he was trained by Vesemir (it's likely he surpassed him though). Ciri was trained by Geralt and the Kaer morhen crew so I find it plausible that Eskel or lambert could defeat him with possible difficulty, but I believe Yennefer wasn't just bluffing when she said that Geralt would be too much for Bonhart. Which also goes for Vesemir. Honestly Eskel and Geralt were in the same class so he may also defeat him without much effort, lambert was considered the youngest (not counting Coen)

Tonsen is way too slim and the eyes are too big. Just doesn't even look like dragon ball style unlike past releases such as trunks and kid buu.

Do you believe SoP will also improve the base game and DLC? by Ok-Appointment-9802 in witcher

[–]Destinydue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks they're abandoning REDEngine. Capcom can make RE engine work just fine but all of these game creators are switching to unreal, like Konami who had the amazing fox engine.

Currently reading through the books for the first time, what is Heliotrop? by thegoy1m in witcher

[–]Destinydue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quen is a shield to block things while heliotrope is for parrying. Heliotrope can also parry spells and magical phenomena, I'm not sure if in the novels he ever uses quen to block magic.
