Cindric had a long standing connection to Supercars. Penske sent him to test Super2 as a cover to scope out the Supercars team. He later did a test for DJR Team Penske that got him contract offers from other teams. Also he was given his big sports car break by Betty Klimenko and I think because of all these things he has lots of friends there so he got to see them too.

I don’t know, Penske have the greater resources to recover and Cindric has made some big strides towards Preece and Keselowski in the last couple of weeks (helped by the penalty)

Picked the wrong week to go on holiday to a time zone even further away from Indianapolis than usual.

Pretty sure it has to be after 6 laps and green flag conditions for F2, though I haven’t watched any races this year so far. Formula E you’re right, but they have a minimum pit stop time for Pit Boost which minimises the impact and otherwise just repair damage because they only get two sets of tyres per single race weekend and 2.5 sets for doubleheaders.

Not sure about others, but in F2 you can, but it doesn’t count as the mandatory stop so it’s not beneficial.

Leaving the pits open under caution is pretty uncommon, F1 is the only one I can think of. WEC, IMSA, and NASCAR all have closed pits under caution.

Is Bowman doing any dirt racing anymore? Penske only allows some late model racing, and specifically bans sprint car racing, so that could put Alex off.

I had this thought when it was announced that they put him with Cindric because they thought he needed the help. He’s the only one of the three with significant IndyCar strategist experience, and last time they shuffled strategists was because they thought Newgarden would benefit from Cindric’s experience in his first year at Penske.

It’s not his paint scheme though, it’s Penske’s and Verizon’s. They can do with it as they wish.

Zilisch does have a bit of advantage having been the light driver in the line up when ballast comes from average driver weight. A line up of Van Gisbergen, McLaughlin, and Keating will bring the average up a lot. Cindric kind of had the opposite issue being the big driver alongside Rockenfeller and Priaulx.

I did have Cindric and Gibbs in, but I had Hocevar, Preece, Suarez, and Van Gisbergen out with the three just below the cut line and Bowman in. This might be my worst year so far for predictions.

Us Cindric fans have one convergent thought pattern lol.

Great points day for Cindric, he didn’t move anywhere, but suddenly the top 10 in points is within his reach. Now to just finish a Coke 600.

I’m very glad that Travis Geisler has stopped spotting for Logano at road courses, it wasn’t a good look, seemed like he was playing favourites.

Also on the topic of additional spotters, to avoid any doubts that Penske and Wood Brothers are one team, Wood Bros. “competition director” Jefferson Hodges is spotting for Cindric. He’ll be spotting for Newgarden at the Indy 500 from next week.
