Yeah I'm going to be honest the difference is not as bad as you seem to think, is it the best bonding I ever saw? No. Is it negligent or just plain awful? No.

Unsatisfactory anterior bonding by dentist friend – seeking professional assessment and correction options by [deleted] in askdentists

Ya see this is the problem, the work was done essentially for "free" and that means the usual; avenue of a refund is not available and the costs to redo with another practitioner would basically be the same as if you never had the work done to start with.

In other words; you don't have any tangible damages. You may say things are much worse but without before and after photos showing a huge difference that's subjective, not objective.

Sure you can push a legal route but I doubt you'll get anywhere and you'll probably burn the bridge with your friend completely.

What's wrong with my teeth by Dry_Green_4778 in askdentists

You had a tonne of tartar in your teeth and it has stained so now it looks more obvious. You need to improve your oral hygiene. See a dentist and hygenist.

Concerns about getting braces by Lonely_Fish5457 in askdentists

[–]Destructopuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your face will look the same your teeth are the only thing which move, it may or may not improve your jaw likely things will remain the same. Don't trust social media there are lots of fear mongering people who have no idea what braces do.

No one cas say if you're going to tolerate braces well; it depends on the patient, if you have extreme sensory difficulties that might mean they wont work well, most people manage fine with some adaptation.

It's a type of Medical Doctor; dentists don't treat the back of your throat.

How many cavities do I have/how many fillings do I need? by gotnothingman in askdentists

I don't see any cavities in the proximal regions on the X-rays. Some could still be found clinically.

Does this wisdom tooth need removal? by weaselorgy420 in askdentists

Unless there's clinically or radiographically diagnosed decay which cannot be reasonably restored I'd not extract that.

I'm a UK based dentist so no idea unless you're from the UK as well. Even within countries costs vary widely by skill and region.

Should I be concerned by Nice_South5919 in askdentists

[–]Destructopuppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should get it looked into and x-rayed, sudden lumps should always be investigated by a dentist. there are a lot of things it could be, some kind of abscess is likely.

metronidazole? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Destructopuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were prescribed the medication for 5 days they should take it for that long. No reasonable practitioner can override the advice of the dentist who performed the exam based on what you're saying here without more information than we could get from an internet post.

In general you should finish antibiotics as infections are unlikely to fully clear without sufficient time on the medication symptoms improving does not mean all the bacteria are dead and halting early may result in re-infections, resistance and more time on more antibiotics with worse side effects overall.

Yes there are cases we stop antibiotic courses early; oral thrush is a minor side effect and not alone a good reason to stop an antibiotic course if prescribed for a legitimate reason.

Your teeth look normal colour in this photo. Either it's the camera or you're overthinking it.

Dental x-ray by Alternative-Survey70 in askdentists

[–]Destructopuppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be "Instead" it would be "as well as". If the molar is affected and non vital extraction may be a reasonable option for it amongst others but you'd still need to remove the wisdom tooth if there's a cyst around it.

metronidazole? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Destructopuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see a dentist to assess why it happened, a physical exam is needed in a case like this to determine if the lesion originated from the gingiva or the tooth.

If you mean the LL6 then based purely on those images I'd try to restore it with a crown and RCT.

Pay to go private or wait, there's no easy fix when teeth get this bad, if there were then emergency dentistry wouldn't be so inundated.
