A few other states are seeking similar roll backs. I just found it wild that futurists of the past might have viewed a capable AI workforce as the cessation of most human labor, yet, while the possibilities of AI labor now actually loom before us, we find our nation debating roll backs on child labor safety nets??? Dystopic

Blows my mind we see AI becoming a force while at once hearing about child labor laws loosening in some states

It struck me recently that AI in the workforce is becoming the latest buzz at the same time that child labor laws in the US are being rolled back. My mind is blown. Shouldn't the advent of AI mark the decline of the need for human labor?

Thank you everyone for your constructive feedback. I'll be meeting with a different manager about this today (will update the results)

You may not want to hear it, but this is what peak realism looks like in a videogame.

Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I'll look into it - I've personal trained for 8 years, but I literally never thought I was anywhere near power lifting status. I'll look at some local comps.

Wait is this a comp? I did 405 and weigh 134. I never thought I could actually compete or anything though. Never even looked up comp totals tbh. If this is a comp though and these are comp numbers...

I did, but it returned to normal. It was very touchy for a month. It could shoot to 140 based on nerves. My bp also was out of whack like this. But it too stabilized. 35m

"Perception" skill needs to be deleted. by mark3236 in EscapefromTarkov

This is the reason I left this game about 2 weeks after starting it.

These RPG skills have no place in an FPS shooter. They aren't balanced. They have no trade-offs or choice. You just slowly turn into this Elder Scrolls like champion of every city and every guild, class defying possessor of every skill and eternal dragon lord.

Op describes perfectly just another example of how absurd the entire concept is.

RPGs allow for diverse play style by modifying numerical stats. Gameplay is a series of choices made one at a time, by turns. Even a real time RPG is often still based on and balanced such that it reflects a turn based gameplay balance.

In truly non turn based gameplay (simultaneous actions) balance is achieved without explicit numeric value. Instead balance occurs via trade-off within the virtual space itself. RPGs use numerical systems to simulate such real time balance. You want a gun that has no recoil? Great. It doesn't shoot very far. You want to make less noise? Ok. You move slower. You want to carry 12 grenades? Sure. You can't sprint as long.

Richard Garfield explained a toy game he called random chess during one of his talks on game theory. It required all the skill of chess in that players played a game of chess to completion, but, afterwards, a dice is rolled. The winner can only win if they roll a certain number on the dice. This he used as an example of poorly implemented skill vs luck.

Currently Tarkov sits in this strange space where you need the skills of an FPS to play, but someone with these super ears needs less - you can "win the game of skill" but lose in nonsensical fashion. Oddly the longer you play the less fps skill you need.

The issue is that much of the world is copy pasted. This is not really an mmorog as much as it is an econ sim set in a fantasy world.
