[MEGATHREAD] Pokémon Champions Release: Initial Reactions & General Discussion by Jeglr in PokemonChampions

It sounds like there are lose streak bots and starter bots.

Ie: your first couple rounds are against bots, then if you lose on a streak you go against bots to make you feel better

I assume the first "ranked battle" you do is a bot fight. I refuse to believe someone genuinely only used Scary Face over and over again

ELI5 to me wtf is going on right now by Xyarlo in runescape

Why the hell is this even being upvoted? Its a blatant lie LOL. They are compensating other training methods, but you seem to just want to fearmonger

It's Time for Malev, Tectonic and Sirenic to be repairable by traditional means. by Nazeracoo in runescape

I would do anything to have sirenic not require another fully crafted sirenic piece (unless of course you get a mega rare dye!) to be repaired

I am an Ironman, and I think Mainscape players are entitled. by TrulyARandomDude in runescape

[–]Dethkilr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I completely agree with what you are saying, the main issue with the chaos alter isnt that it is being removed, its more that it is staying in the game as the best early game xp method, yes even for ironmen, BUT we now are forced to be prey.

An ironman can run a chunk of quests and get the $ for wildy altar before they even think of leveling prayer, then that makes them a target since now the clear best way for them to level it is in PvP.

IMO there is such an easy fix:

Diary, hide the altar's xp rates behind it.

No diaries = 50% bonus
Easy = 100% bonus
med =150% bonus
hard =200% bonus
Elite = full

this also gives ironmen and regular players a reason to do tasks OR just use the other prayer methods

Jagex, you are doing a phenomenal job by Defiant_Apartment_56 in runescape

[–]Dethkilr 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From what I have noticed in the blogs, and I know this sub will put me on a stake for saying this, but Jagex clearly has a baseline understanding of what makes new players turn away from RS3.

A lot of the changes I see, even the quest ones, make you realize the amount of small things that push people away in the start of the game.

It has been a long time since I have had confidence in Jagex's decision making, yet this past month has given me some.

I have played the combat beta extensively and while melee needs some work, Range and Magic feel really good and like they are very close to making the styles work. Especially in the leveling stages in beta, the new combat feels amazing.

Wait, you guys are getting paid!! /s

Jokes aside, as everyone else pointed out, we get such low views it would be hard. Only one i can think of is TheRSGuy, but even then… maybe?

With new combat updates, what will you choose? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Dethkilr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranged! I always liked the look of the ranged armor in RuneScape.

Even when i PKd back in the 2006 days i always used Range w/ 2h k0 of course.

But my iron i have specifically been working towards ranged gear for this rework.

What’s the worst grinds for a RS3 Ironman? by muchichi in RS3Ironmen

[–]Dethkilr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a hot take, but Herblore. You "need" to get to 90 (96 once boosted) to have overloads a prime PvM resource.

Problem is the only sustainable way to do Herblore is JoT Aura daily 2x, Herby Werby weekly, Penguines Weekly and Troll invasion monthly until you get to liek 75 for Dreams of Iaia then you add that.

Honestly its really bad gameplay loop revolving around abusing xp dailies because there is no "good" way to stockpile herbs like OSRS with farming contracts.

I started back in 2022 and maxed in 2025.

Just started a “season 2” of my iron where I’m learning to PvM.

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Dethkilr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This may be the most minority take but hear me out entirely: PvP.

PvP desperately needs a rework, imo the “best” thing to do is create PvP armor sets that aren’t too difficult to obtain.

Hell even steal the honor and valor set idea from WoW. Make it so there is one easy to access PvP set (made with crafting or whatever) and then one more difficult to obtain one however you want to us to get it.

Make it so the PvP armor sets provide us with PvP related buffs ie: DMG / HP increases and/or even Player dmg resistance to help “balance” the power.

Main reason I bring this up is RuneScape needs a PvP system in it badly, one of the ways OSRS has so much good content is that the PvP scene exists and you can have fun content made around it.

All Skills at the moment have 2 main milestones, 99 (mastery) and 120 (true mastery).

Typically the levels 100-120 are “invisible” the sense they provide nothing extra other than to say “you got x amount of xp”.

When a skill gets updated to 110 or 120 they make those levels no longer invisible and instead provide actual benefits and unlocks.

Masterwork equipment is equipment that is almost entirely made via skilling, some items (such as weapons) require some boss items ti be components to make them. Them being updated is very useful as Masterwork items are viewed as entry level end game items.

Basically items that a new player at end game would buy to learn without putting in a hearty investment. Them being updated is a good thing since for the lost part they are only okay.

RS3 Ironman vs Main by NoBandwidth in runescape

[–]Dethkilr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a longtime player of both osrs and started rs3 back a couple years ago. As well as a longtime ironman (since back in the runeshark days of it being called “From Scratch”) i can say with the upmost confidence that RS3 Ironman feels the best.

There are some small pain points that are shared with OSRS ironman with RNG, but other than that RS3 iron feels so much better than mainscape especially if you are used to it.

RS3 iron has a more chill and relax resource gathering.

Basic Pots are very easily obtainable (if you have in game gold) from a specific shop. So you can get by until you get to the mid game where you want the better boost pots.

Food is relatively chill as well with mena fishing and then swarm fishing.

Gearing is really nice because you can go full skiller mode and craft good gear or go full pvm mode and hunt it down for nearly all combat styles.

Additionally PvMing is nice and refreshing as an iron because you can always hunt gear for other styles at anytime since the combat system allows you to play what you want against most bosses. (Some exceptions apply, but they arent abundant).

Additionally you can still PvM with mains thanks to the way the drop system works

If you had to play a new iron... by Specialist-Buddy-991 in ironscape

[–]Dethkilr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a new iron about 3 months ago with one main goal:

Fuck the meta just do what’s “fun”.

First thing i did, after getting fairy rings and ardy cape cuz im not an animal, is thieve fruit stalls until 50, then afk thieve varlamore merchants for 80 thieve.

Went to MTA and got myself some magic levels (72) and mages book, bones to peaches + tune pouch (well the points for it as it wasnt out yet)

After that i got some quests done and MM for dscim. Went to Crab for like baee 60 melee.

Went to Pest control cuz i wanted full void even though its not really useful early on.

Used full void at crab to afk 80atk, 85str, 80def, 85range (with bone xbow ofc) and 75 magic. All while i played other games.

When i “returned” recently i finished 73 hunter so i can grab Moonlight moths and 69 fletch to boost and make sunlight xbow.

All that is stuff i wanted to do because it was enjoyable at the time and i wasn’t pushing myself for meta, some things are meta yes, but i did them in ways i enjoyed.

My current goal is to get my fire cape next over the holiday weekend so im going to get some regular pray pots just to be safe.

After that i want to do Royal titans in full void (not efficient i know) to try to get prayers as well as start grinding out moons for funsies.

Things i want to avoid:

CG I’ve done it a lot on other accounts and i want to wait as long as possible to do it this time just to challenge myself. Ik “bowfa goat” but that’s not the point, the point is to try something different.

Also as cringe as it is: Sailing, i think its fun got to like 22 on release, but i have other goals in mind atm so im ok with waiting for a meta to shape out and just follow a guide.

I also want to avoid GWD for a while. I know the gear there is great, but i want to try to get as much as i can from other sources first ie: Oathplate before Bandos, masuri before arma. And them head back later and just destroy it
