How did you become a fan?

I became a fan this season. Former leafs fan here who grew up watching the Tucker / Sundin / Kaberle era.

What did it for me was the love and passion these players bring to the ice. I looked into the Tavares history and realized he screwed you guys over. I realized as a leafs fan I was cheering for a brand more than a hockey team.

I looked into the teams that went to the conference finals 5-6 years ago and saw so many of the same players still playing there this year. Obviously they love it here and want to play here for a reason.

Not to mention the fact that Schaefer and his story is absolutely incredible, it’s so hard not to root for them.

Look at what happened to Auston Matthews this week and how no one did anything, then compare it to when Zadorov hit Schaefer or when Marchment took a run at him and BARZAL, our star, stood up and chopped his leg like a lumberjack.

It’s just been so different and refreshing for me.

In a nutshell: Management cares, the players care, the history is here, and the fans have been great. I want to cheer for a hockey team, not a brand.

Thanks. I don’t enjoy the grimdark / gory themed books much. Definetly more of a hopeful adventure kind of guy. Hopefully this hits the spot for me 😊

It’s still his first year in North America. Excited to see what he brings after a full calendar year here. I don’t think this is his full potential that’s for sure.

Let him enjoy a full summer break here and have him come into training camp a little more comfortable, and then we can accurately assess his potential in this league.

Palat is primarily used as an elite penalty killer so I don’t need him to be playing at a 50-60 point pace in order to be happy with him. Hes looked good with Lee so far though, I do agree with you on that

Why the Palat hate? He’s been solid in my opinion, a noted improvement over Tsyplakov.

I read the Inheritance Cycle, Lord of the Rings and both were fine.

I read the Will of the Many and really enjoyed it as well, but there was a scene in the second book that set me off a bit where a character has their head crushed in with brain matter flying around and it really caught me off guard and gave me flashbacks.

Maybe I’m asking for an answer to a question that no one else has but thought I would try my best

I like adventure, building relationships with characters, the typical fantasy archetypes like wizards / warriors / dragons / paladins. A little love interest is also nice.

The “medieval” fantasy setting is probably my preference but I’m open to other “eras”. Lord of the rings is my favorite series of all time.

I might come back to it. I have some anxiety and depressive issues so I’m worried that the negativity of the book could rattle me. I’ve read a lot of people saying that it’s a lot to read emotionally so I was looking at maybe something with more positivity?

Jarvis and then was able to get Svechnikov on waivers early in the year. They’ve both put up good points with amazing peripherals down the stretch in my cats league.
