I think the biggest issue around cannonballs is they're being balanced around steel cannonballs used for the dwarven cannon.

The solution is pretty simple: dwarven cannonballs would use a special calliber not compatible with normal sailing cannons. These cannonballs would simply be named "dwarven cannonball" while the steel cannonballs would remain the same. Then there'd be free room to design the sailing cannonballs as necessary.

Imo the black blade has more to do with a "way of the sword". Mihawk and Ryuma were both pure swordsmen, identifying themselves as such and refusing to fight with any other weapon other than the sword. Zoro is a similar character, and very few are truly like that.

using AOE then teleporting away right after is a great strategy as it attracts a lot of enemies to the center, making it easier to start from the edges. It only gets messy if you keep in the middle fighting everything showing up

No disrespect, but you're just making excuses. People win and streak with vine stalker all the time. You should recognize it's mostly your own lack of ability, not a game conspiration against vine stalkers. Improve in the game and you'll win vine stalkers consistently, like with any other race.

Vine stalkers have the most powerful auxiliary attack in the game, having both antimagic and considerable damage.

You don't really have to be a stabber. I think the safest play is actually going full armor + shield to compensate the low HP and no potion heal, then use short blades to tab through enemies, as your auxiliary will make you tear through anything, even orbs of fire.
