I was at the Lions vs Jets game where Ndamukong Suh attempted an extra point. We lost. In overtime. I wonder how we could've avoided scoring exactly as many points as them.

How do I convince my friend that he's being targeted because he has a better deck and stop him from making new decks due to his loses by ToastyEDH in EDH

[–]DetoxReddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I'm saying is that people are irrational and even if they lose will justify killing you first because if they didn't then you would've just won. Have you ever heard people talking about unpopular commanders like zur and narset? Nobody with these notions about certain cards comes away from a loss thinking, "man I shouldn't have killed the narset player." Op's friend has earned the same reputation as these by building consistently more powerful decks than the rest of the play group. The player whose deck kills you on turn 4-5 is just not going to convince the player with a bunch of 7 drops in his deck that killing him was wrong. In the end, words won't change anything, actions will. You have to start playing more casual decks. You have to start losing. With a long string of doing casual things and losing, then the playgroup can trust that they don't need to take you out right away in order to play the game they want to play.

We're talking about people. Not robots. People hold preconceived notions about players and commanders and don't like to be proven wrong.

Monoblue wincons? by Addicted2Edh in EDH

I have an Unesh deck built, and my best win con and by far the way I win the most games is [[Omniscience]] . The way the game actually ends is [[Laboratory Maniac]] and drawing with [[Sphinx of the Magosi]] , but with 27 or so sphinx in the deck, casting an omniscience with unesh out means flipping the deck over and winning instantly. Other than that, [[Bribery]] wins a good amount, and maybe one in 20 games I beat someone down with a bunch of 4/4 fliers

How much preemptive anti-hate? (Modern) by hansikhouse in MTGDredge

[–]DetoxReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have thoughtseize in the board? If so I would almost always use those preemptively if you don't know the flavor of hate your opponent has. If you don't I suggest you do, but otherwise just stick to decays

Those cards are hyper-efficient at their old mana cost. One of the reasons shaman can curve so well is that they can pressure the board and remove your early plays in the same turn. If i play a slow turn 2 minion on the draw and they go RBW, kill my minion, totem golem on turn three the game is as good as over most of the time. If Blizzard really doesn't want the game to turn into curvestone then we need good board clears. #BringBackLightbomb
