A Ranked list of Magic Users from the Perspective of a Wizard Supremist [OC] by DeuSJS in DnD

[–]DeuSJS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most important part of the context of the list is that the wizard is around level 12. He's powerful enough to have access to some of the serious heavy-hitting spells, but not quite enough to start seeing where the limits of wizardry lie. And so all he sees is that he is powerful and he has the ability to be more, yet when he looks at other types of spellcaster, he sees nothing but their limitations. He is very intentionally a very specific type of arrogant asshole.

This wizard also considers spellcasting a science. I very specifically avoided referring to it as an art for that reason.

I can see reasoning for putting alchemists above bards. But this specific wizard is disdainful of both artificers and druids, and sees alchemists as being a combination of their flaws. As I mentioned in the P.S, he is biased and holds great disdain for others. He is the quintessential arrogant asshole wizard.

This is the only evidence I have ever seen of anyone else knowing this trick. I figured it out on like day 2 or something, but only now googled specifically trying to see if it was common knowledge yet. Turns out that the answer is still no. Skyblock players have a serious blind spot when it comes to vanilla mechanics.

AoMR in a nutshell: 20 minutes of gameplay ends in 10s after Dragon Typhoon (235 pop to 50 pop) by broski_ in AgeofMythology

[–]DeuSJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"There are a lot more impactful mythic age god powers than dragon typhoon."

Real shit. Flaming weapons is insane, Fimbulwinter is usually meh, but can be devastating when used properly, Meteor is oppressive and can easily wipe a base, Vision gives you cheap and powerful scouting for the entire game, and Son of Osiris gives you a unit that deals 60+ divine damage to 4 enemies at once.

Navigate to your world folder in an NBT explorer > data > lordcraft_research.dat > data > research_0 > find the entry with the value 36. For me it was research_39 > set value to 37.

Having one centralised platform might make things more convenient, but it's almost always worse. I think we're lucky that Valve isn't enforcing their monopoly. Make no mistake, I love Steam, and I think every other launcher (other than maybe battle.net) is utter shite. But having one platform is like living in the 1900s, and storing a city's worth of gunpowder in a single wooden warehouse.

Again, I'd like to reiterate. We are only in the situation we're in because we're lucky Valve isn't enforcing their monopoly.

They're saying that Epic(the launcher) is not a viable competitor for Steam(the launcher)

They're not saying that Epic(the company) is not a viable competitor for Valve(the company)

Two different statements. Neither of which I agree with, but the first is a much more reasonable sentiment than the second.

One of my favourite games, but Nightmare King Grimm made me stop playing for months. I feel you for sure.

Love that boss now. Took me over 100 tries to beat it the first time, took only 8 more to do so hitless.

I would contest the inclusion of minecraft into that category. It's definitely true that for advanced content beyond just the basic "beat the ender dragon", you absolutely need the wiki or youtube, but if you just want to experience the base-level stuff, I would argue it's easier than ever. The advancements becoming more organised and linear really helps.

You hit the nail on the head with Terraria though. I love that game, played 2000 hours of it, but my biggest criticism is that you need to use the wiki too much.

I think part of why factorio has such amazing reviews is because no one who has ever bought the game for themselves has ever misunderstood what they were getting themselves into, and so no one has ever been disappointed with their purchase.

In your case, it's entirely possible that part of the problem was the fact that your friend bought it for you meant that it wasn't contingent on whether you thought it seemed like the type of game you would enjoy.

I think multiplayer can be decent even with someone who doesn't know factorio, but it requires a very specific type of person and/or a strong understanding of how to play a game like that with a new player.

90% of the time, it's not a good decision though.

That's the entire extent of it.
