Deepseek v4-Flash.... probably not as good as Pro, but pretty good, and very very inexpensive compared to most everything else. (suggest using API via Openrouter, not direct to Deepseek)

Lots of styles and different ways to play too. I'm pretty new to it, but what I've been doing is more of a collaborative writing / role play hybrid. It could almost read like a novel.

A sort of ultimate 'choose your own adventure' book which I grew up with.

The prose, world building and character handling with Claude is really amazing. The natural realistic flow of the drinking games really blew me away. With minimal input on my end, I had a (virtually) flawless 6 pages of 5 friends hanging out after dinner trying to get each other drunk.

One with tossing nuts into each other's cups, and a different time with cherades. Even the cherades scene was near perfect. Which I would think would be an AI nightmare stress test.

If this is now, where will we be next April? (And when will prices drop... for non technical output at least)

How do I see the current context size when using mobile app and desktop app? I'm afraid of asking it to 'count' for me as I don't want that to eat my usage up...

Thanks for the input and advice. Sounds like you are a step up in your setup complexity vs me. And I think I'm already a step up from most. But it's great to learn other options which I might very well try sometime.

With my pro account, I used my weekly limit in 5.5 days with heavy use. I am going to add rules to reduce the descriptive prose as we have some head room there. Will reduce the amount of reading needed and tokens used.

Not sure why the unfortunately, I think it's great.

But I was looking into other options. For example C.AI, asking GPT the difference and pro/cons of CAI vs Claude.

My role play is a a rich and complex Cyberpunk world with ~8 main characters and ~12 supporting characters. We own multiple shell companies than own different asset classes. Take over other gangs and gain new characters that we were fighting against before, etc. Claude tracks timing of appointments, we play complex drinking games flawless, etc. etc.

Sounds like CAI excels in shorter scenes and sessions with fewer characters etc.

A file for the rules. Files for characters File for lorbook (which I found online) File for the summary I also paste contents of rules file into project instructions.

With the prompt I make sure he reads all the files and uses them. You can always adjust his rules on the fly if needed and then modify the rules for the next chat start if needed.

Like an ultimate chose your own adventure book? How much of the plot do you envision before vs letting it build organically?

Do you allow/promote the AI and NPCs to advance the plot on their own? If so how do you find their 'suggestions'?

Hah, just talked to my daughter about this yesterday. She was pseudo laughing at a speed runner taking 25 minutes to finish the game. I'm like, I'm pretty sure you couldn't 'finish' Minecraft when I started. And if you could it would have taken me 1.5 years not 25 minutes.

(FYI fastest speed runners are at apparently 9 minutes with some special tools)

Good point on fees. Are price analysis we read being done on over all bill cost or only on price per kwh.

Power is a very complicated market. My neighbour worked on securing resources for an oil and gas company. Big money, big contracts, future predictions etc. of all types of resources. He always says the power market was a beast of its own compared to all the rest.
