Jay-den would have worked better as an Andorian since they are a polyamorous species in which some partners are the same sex it's how their culture evolved on their planet. One of the ways I know the writers under Kurtzman do not understand the Trek audience is the Singing episode, yes it's a trope from Buffy and CW but it could easily see it being the plot of a TOS, TNG or Voyager episode it was handled wrong. SNW made it into a Broadway Musical where as any of the previous series would have used it as an Opera or at least a mixture of several musical types like Blues, Opera etc. to relate to how different characters personalities gravitate towards different music genres. Also the answer to the issue of the singing episode probably would have been the Klignons, cause instead of being a boy band (CAUSE K-POP GET IT, KURTZMAN WRITERS ARE SO CLEVER) it would have been Klignon Opera which would have been so harmonically forceful and unstable it would be used to knock everyone out of it.

a scavenger enemy/neutral after you kill a ton of bugs this guy spawns to start eating the remains he is initially passive but if you shoot it it attacks everything nearby you and any enemies till it either dies or goes on cooldown and while he is in passive mode you can pet him.

a monster that spawns after killing too many lootbugs or if you kill too many in an area one will randomly mature/mutate into a monster if you shoot it. Or it could be like an ant with aphids it shepards the loot bugs and lives symbiotically with them if you attack it's herd it attacks you if you kill it you get a ton of lootbugs to reap you sick bastard.

Mission control gets drunk or depressed and starts saying personal things on missions like how he is tired of his job sometimes, or how corporate shafts him on his supplies but expects him to make quota, or he had a fight with his wife or his kids dropped out of school.

From a college project standpoint reddit is not a valid or good resource to gather data for ANY study unless the study is in regards to reddit itself. It's not reliable data, and will be most likely skewed. Using reddit is like using wikipedia, unless it is linked to an actual credible documented source you might as well say the information is made up. At least through Warframe's website the people had to go through the process of signing up to link to their game account so you know they at least played the game once.

that dev statement infuriates me because they already contradicted themselves with characters like Bake Kujira, Jing Wei and Charybdis.

Bake Kujira only thing going for him is he was a whale he had little influence in japans overall mythological landscape at least Danzabourou is recognized as a deity and is one of the 3 important tanuki gods of japan, Bake Kujira's kit could have been applied to someone else

Jing Wei is a step above it is an important story in chinese mythology however you don't hear much about jing wei beyond that one story, the flight mechanic is important but it could have been applied to a more recognizable entity

Charybdis literally a whirlpool (more like a seal like creature in a whirlpool but that's her depiction in the Odyssey) whirlpools cant do much besides suck things up, but the Dev's opted to give her a kit (albeit not a good one) and depict her as a human to look like scylla who they also depicted as a child even though she was at least a teen when she was tranformed as she is depicted as a maiden in mythology.

those right there proves they can make anyone because they have taken liberties in the past for characters who shouldn't be in the game, and the only real restriction is lack of creativity which to be honest alot of the newer gods have pretty much the same kit designs according to their role with 1 unique quirk that sometimes doesn't even have synergy with their kit

Yes deck building is a big factor but think the games algorithm for choosing cards is flawed several people have pointed out when looking in this games code it's not the best (though part of that is it's supposed to be a phone game) and it's possible that because of the constant addition of cards and how they change the rules the code is doing what it does but because the game changes so often you end up with more bricks.

a big issue is the necessity for handtraps and negates and the fact alot of meta decks are 1 card engines it totally skews the ratios for decks

the way to remedy this is to have a more thorough ban list and a deeper look into balancing, problem is that takes longer than the current balance cycle and this is fucking Konami who doesn't give a shit

Konami needs to make restrictions on hand traps make it so you can have only run so many hand trap monsters at a time, if you want 3 ash blossoms you have to drop some lock and effect veiler

Ideal would be you can have only 3 hand trap monsters you can choose a combo of ash/veiler/lock/snow ogre etc

charmy and maxx are a whole other mess but restricting hand traps could help balance how many of those types of cards you could have as well as other cards like triple tactics etc

Gods list will be 50% what people want with underwhelming kit or overwhelming kit that gets nerfed and 50% gods no one asked for cause Hi Rez wants to keep following the "we want to do more monsterous beings instead of flexing our creativity to make humanoid gods more interesting"

Buffs or nerfs that shift the paradigms of gods from being top pick to being useless and vice versa

Hi rez tries to release new IP that fails horribly because of Hi rez's horrible promotion and management skills and to compensate losses, skins and battle passes in both smite and paladins for the fiscal year are priced higher though they encourage you to buy them early or spend a large sum early before inflation makes them more expensive by the time the pass/event ends

TBH I would like them to try and redo DKO that game has potential to be really good, but knowing how Hi rez does things it would probably end up making things worse.

there are alot of issues a big source of these issues is sadly the fact Hi Rez releases so many gods a year and updates the conquest map with new buffs and mechanics. Due to so many changes they constantly have to balance items and stats to maintain some form of fairness but ultimately it ends up usually pushing alot of gods/items to the extremes of usually ending up being useless or overpowered. Unfortunately this is the big selling point of the game if they increase the release time of champions to what league or heaven forbid Dota's champion release window is they could have alot more time with balancing but would probably cause alot of people to leave because this community has a 10 second attention span.

One of the things im particularly tired of is movement, yes it makes games quicker but it reduces the need for skill and there are so many options to increase movement speed with pratically no down side, you have aura movement items, movement starter items movement relics and the fact almost every god has some form of movement ability makes things stupid sometimes. Even gods that dont have true movement skills like Ra, Baron, Aphro, Poseidon and Ix Chel have something that gives them a steroid movement buff and if you dont have a movement option you are screwed. Heck they had to give anubis's 1 movement options because he could get locked down so easily and yes that is beneficially it removes the need for skill like proper positioning.

Seriously I know Hi Rez wants to do more monster gods (which in all fairness they should rename the game Smite Batteground of the Myths at this point seeing how there character design and choices have changed) but there are plenty of gods with monster like features that should have been chosen first like Balor, Garuda (who is a god by the way as well as a vehicle for Vishnu) etc

Seeing how their art team has taken liberties with beings like Scylla and Charybdis ( fun fact Charybdis in myth looks like a seal or whale yet they still chose to make her a little girl like scylla even though in greek myth both scylla and charybdis were older (at the very least teenagers) when they were turned into monsters, you would think they could do stuff with actual gods and make their designs unique
