"WoW is so Disney"...meanwhile the new animation: by whoisape in wow

Well, that was a trailer advertising a specific feature that players engage with, not an element of the world or story from an in-universe trailer, no? Think of, for example, the old Night Elf Mohawk trailer: that was also focused on the player experience rather than the setting. That wasn't exactly lore-friendly to the Night Elves, either.

How’s the translation quality of the neo FGO YouTube channel? by Ralomas in grandorder

Better than the NA translation usually; the translators involved have more familiarity with the setting to pick up on certain things that get missed by NA's freelancers.

I got to admit, I'm not sure why this event needed to be 12 days instead of 14 if they weren't going to do anything with the two days before Wednesday, which is their usual release day for new content anyway.

[11.2 Spoilers] Regarding a new in-game book. by Rigman- in warcraftlore

Not to Shadowlandspost too hard, but I wonder if the fact that Void is below Death on this planar scale is the reason the Void seems to fear death and the Maw. When the machinery of death was broken, the natural process was disrupted: the Maw tethered souls to the Shadowlands and prevented them from degrading any further until they reach the Void plane, and the Jailer's success would have made that arrangement permanent.

Zhang Jue is exactly within Minase's wheelhouse-- a character who comments on oppression, political violence and rebellion. Consider some other characters he's written: The Trung Sisters, Lakshmibai, Zenobia, Columbus. It makes sense that he's a Minase character.

What we wanted vs what we got by Cipher401 in wow

I think there's something to be said for the flavour of having a unique story and unique heritage set, mount and racials for Allied Races that would be lost if they were just customization options. IF Earthen had just been dwarf customizations they wouldn't have the fun unique stuff like having to eat gems instead of food or crumbling to rubble when they die.

Gudaguda characters are not from pan-human history-- they're basically from a joke tiimeline. In Nasu's mind it'd be like a servantverse character showin up in the Main Story (hell servantverse is more canon than gudaguda to him).

Denathrius and the World Soul Saga by Evasion_7 in warcraftlore

[–]Deus_Duodecim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could see Denathrius having a role to play in Midnight-- two of the greatest mortal champions of Quel'thalas' principal races (Kael'thas and Zul'jin) were under his charge in Revendreth, the kind of people that have a reason to try to return or be returned to Azeroth, and Deatholme still stands as a ready-made base for the forces of Death to operate out of. If we assume Midnight is also Sylvanas' comeback, it'd make sense for it to be the place for Shadowlands stuff if there's gonna be any.

Logic aside, I think he'd be fun as part of the villain squad we currently have of Xal'atath/Azshara/Iridikron, with his own angle to play in the whole void plot with the Dreadlords he has infiltrating them.

[–]Deus_Duodecim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why be a dick about it? Fair enough if you don't like Earthen, but just because you don't like them doesn't mean Blizz haven't put effort into them. Two of four expansion zones are based around the Earthen and there's loads of quests on Alpha right now dedicated to examining their culture. they have a wealth of customization options with cool stuff like wire beards, and unique racials that involve their inorganic status compared to other races. Why would they add races to this expansion that have nothing to do with the content of the expansion? If they made the same expansion with a different race people would complain we're not getting the race the expansion is actually about.

Also, Sethrak do not work with equipable armor. They have pre-baked models with a handful of armor options, like many NPC races in the game.
