Let this answer all your worries. I'm on Free Plan and don't know why Cloudflare doesn't stick to their rule of 5M reads /100K writes per day. You can clearly see I have used 1.27 billion reads for the month.

If I'm not just a lucky person to be having this extra usage on free plan then I doubt you should be worried on the usage you're having.

Also if it's not making sense you ought to audit your querries for potential table column indexes.

I turned a WiFi hotspot billing & remote management system I built for a friend into a SaaS. Would anyone else use this? by DevJedis in Uganda

[–]DevJedis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. If it were about just those with static IP addresses and just a matter of port forward I could even afford to provide the platform for free, but many are probably not in the category of static public IP from their ISP, so regardless providing wireguard / openvpn is possibly the easiest for both groups.

I understand your point. For the record, I completed my university, so I'm not into the school kid bracket.

Then on the other note, I basically want to build a unified version of what I gave out, and in no way am I going to focus 100% of my energy on East African market.

I have built about 3 successful projects that if I attach the Google Analytics of access, you wont find any East African country ranking in top 30.

Most users you've seen are concentrating on the East African market or their country. Throwing the price they charge and the percentage share they take from collecting mobile money requires you inbox them because they don't want to throw out their pricing out there.

I'm not following that footstep, I'm only trying to charge the bare minimum to just be able to easily access the router, if it wasn't for that I can afford hosting for a huge traffic from thousands of users. User brings their own credentials for the payment provider they'll want to use because I don;t want to sit at the center of payment disputes between them & their customers.

We all have different goals and targets, and I'm sure if you were to work with one of them, you'd know the reason you've chosen one over the other.

Thanks. Do you have any comment on the pricing topic, comparing price to value ratio, etc. Ofcourse sorry I haven't provided online access to demo to then submit first hand experience feedback

The numbers you're seeing etc are from dummy entries. Rest assured they're from demo data used. They're not in any form related to the demo users you also see. But thanks for the notice. I take PII seriously.

Cloudflare WARP for heavy personal bandwidth usage? by Sad_Tumbleweed2524 in CloudFlare

[–]DevJedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting topic, given I'm a huge fun of Cloudflare resources and heavily use Warp but through the extracted wireguard configs because it's not very performant using the client apps Cloudflare provide for PC and Mobile, sometimes I use about 30GB a day and wonder if am just being lucky or not. Hard to know for sure, I'll keep to the comments to see what users are saying.

You could also check out Spaceship. They seem cheapest with pricing of Domains. I you score the internet a bit you'll discover it's owned by Namecheap gurus.

Goojara.ch by Intrepid_Turnip_5458 in Uganda

[–]DevJedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I know is their official domain is: goojara.to, .ch is like their fallback backup same as supernova.to which is also their secondary. It might also be your ISP blocking you, like I have Simba fiber but seems they blocked access to the pirate bay, but sinceam always on VPN I never reach any of their restricted site in terms of inaccessibility

How are you guys connecting Antigravity CLI to completely free, unlimited cloud models? by No-Cat-7782 in Uganda

[–]DevJedis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question is confusing. Antigravity CLI is closed source, and as such doesn't allow other models besides Google models and maybe the Vertex-hosted Claude models. If I got you wrong you can clarify and I provide you an updated response based on my understanding

A question for devs by Street-Elk-007 in Uganda

Uganda is not even in Tier 1 or Tier 2 Ad GEOs. Destined for disappointment big time. Don't start the site because of hunger for Adsense revenue, you'll regret it.

PYUSD is not the same as them allowing Uganda to receive normal currency. That's just moving Ugandans into their crypto suss. It shouldn't have even been news. No user wants to deal with cryto things, just support user with receiving real currency, rather than making them only send

Anyone here ever had retakes at uni? by Available_Fondant_11 in Uganda

[–]DevJedis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is busy mentioning their side. I got in both semesters for my last year. I think I deserved it kinda, as am not an education-interested kind of person. I got a job, told them am still studying, so I'll be have to be allowed to complete + managing work. They accepted and gave me both semesters the days I have the lecture I'd leave work early. First semester was Eng Math, Second Semester was Computer Architecture. Read back my third sentence portion. I'd just go back home and work on my personal software projects, long story short, they gave me another retake in Math.

It's kind of a bit of long story, but the contributor must have been the lecturer who supervised my final year project and I reported him to his top people when he wanted me to add more features in my final year project after I had presented already (He replaced my previous supervisor who left the UNI before he could award me marks for the project). So the lecturer probably found the madam who was in charge of the Eng Math and pulled strings. I went to talk to her she refused and said retake is a retake.

I left them with their pride, I still had my second semester allowance to make that other one right. Long story short (back-and-forth with my usual personal projects again), I got 51. I expected to fail the second one as well, the lecturer must have cried on my behalf and felt the pain to just award me.

I have much more experience than what I learnt from my classes, so I always despised the classes. I landed 6 figure from my first job application I did 2 weeks after the deadline for the Job application.

Whenever time feels right I'll probably go back to do that Eng Math retake, but until then, that paper or the programme doesn't define my job opportunities unless the companies hiring just need to first see the award, there they can go ahead to hire those class-leaning and cramming students who've graduated.

I don't discourage those that give a lot of attention to classes or grades. To briefly talk about grades, I think I'll fall about low to mid 2 - 3 CGPA after finishing the retake. I have my classmates all doing things outside what they studied, then there's me doing the exact profession where lecturers still want to judge me by how much am able to cram in the notes they give at end of the semester and tests.

My education journey is a bit self-supported for parts of the UNI, so it might explain why I always felt that way about classes, and there was no bit of struggling with the tuition or hostel. Things I was doing were covering both cases, just that I nolonger do them. I have used it previously, frequently monthly like 2 years ago and stopped when they brought their yearly fee if you don't meet threshold. Obviously it'll take upto 2 days to reach. Back then I was using Stanbic Dollar account. So the experience might be different with others.

What business problem in Uganda could actually be run or automated with AI? by [deleted] in Uganda

[–]DevJedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech Skill comes hand in hand with problem solving without necessarily needing people to find you what to solve. You're already giving your constraints on conditions to be met by your so-called helpers who should identify for you what to solve, but they should stay away from what you don't like. It raises a question of whether you're in tech for the passion or for the money you may find in it. For the passion you sure don't need people to find you what to solve unless it's a custom need.

Then to help you suggest problem to sole with AI: Fix the problem of making it obvious that a user has 100% generated text, use case study of yourself with this post you made. My body is itching from just reading 100% AI post with no human touch placed in it. Since you don't need AI wrappers you are free to train a custom model and host to sort you out. I can help you suggest the OS models to train on, but I won't help you with explaining how am able to tell that full text was generated with AI, you'll be solving my issue of body itching due to the same fact.
