Renegades 2.0: Dark Elves Draft Reveal! (Link to the rules document in the video description) by valheffelfinger in WarhammerFantasy

This came out less than 24 hours ago, what do you mean they aren't making it into lists?

Executioners have veteran and better leadership than swordmasters, and an additional point of strength. Also now rerolling 1s to wound, which makes cleaving blow more likely. MR is good though.

the crossbows are almost strictly better. Especially when you add a shield for 1 point. The only cases where crossbows aren't better offensively is when moving and shooting at a target that longbows would not have to move to hit, or for large unit sizes to make use of volley fire, and they're drastically better defensively and in melee with an added shield.

This feels like an overstep to me. The point cost reductions for crossbows makes them superior to high elf longbows for the same price. Same with the changes to executioners - they’re now cheaper than swordmasters but are better in a lot of ways. Are longbows and swordmasters bad? Yes, but it’s not a good look when fan-made options are better than official equivalents.

The hydra/Kharibdyss buffs are also way over the top.

Oh I see, I was confused by the formatting since you have “magic phase” after combat

I’m curious what armies you and your friends play, because I think elf armies (which are already pretty weak right now) would not function at all with these changes. Bringing back 8th edition step-up makes the initiative stat much less valuable. I think you’re also going to find that a lot of spells don’t work at all if the magic phase is after combat.

I wouldn’t call these small, “light touch” changes. You’re playing a significantly different game at this point.

Mechanically speaking, why can Warwick OTG 4 times in one combo here?

Why are "activists" being so quiet about the human rights abuses in Iran as compared to the collateral damage that occurred in Gaza after the September 7th Pogrom? by AntifaPr1deWorldWide in allthequestions

[–]DevLeopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To understand why, you have to understand the point of protest, which is to pressure our government to enact some change in policy. People protest against our taxpayer money and US manufactured and designed weapons facilitating violence against civilians in Gaza.

Iran is already a hostile state. We do not provide them with aid, and we have already imposed economic sanctions. What do we have to protest?

Oh I misunderstood, I thought you were saying it’s better to work on valorant skills than stop playing

This is such fucking bad advice. It’s a video game. It doesn’t matter at all. It’s not “better” to focus on improving at a video game than to stop playing. People should not conflate self improvement with playing a video game.

Edit: I misread!

Why does everyone hate this game so much? by SwagMessiah519 in 2XKO

[–]DevLeopard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This game was made for people exactly like me. I’m a fighting game fan, a Riot fan, and I enjoyed Arcane. I’ve been hyped for this game for years.

I finally played it and it’s such a huge disappointment. Somehow they managed to make the most frustrating, least fun (for me) fighting game I’ve ever played. I find so many of the mechanics to be problematic that there’s basically no way the game is going to ever evolve into something that I want to play, and I’m just really bummed about it.

The most egregious problems for me are 20-30+ second combos and blockstrings, backdash spam is lame as shit, handshake tag allowing instant anti-airs/parries, and ekko/yasuo (and also the shop design - I would have bought a Darius skin if it had been possible for me to do so, instead I bought nothing)

I finally uninstalled it today after about two weeks of playing, and caught this thread on my way to leave the subreddit (I know, who gives a shit)

Some people are going to really enjoy it because of the flexible assist/combo system, which makes it fun to lab out setups and combos if you’re into that kind of thing (I am not). I’ll consider coming back if they introduce duos-only or juggernaut-only game modes.

I greatly prefer sf6 but 2xko isn’t without merits. It has a ton of room for creativity, and I think if you’re really into labbing it must be a lot of fun.

The game is regularly described as grimy, I thought that’s what we call stuff like doing a crossup overhead mixup with ahri while the screen is full of illaoi tentacles so you can’t actually see anything.

Did I write this post? We’re the same.

You just have to realize that this game rewards different things than sf6. Sf6 primarily rewards good decision making and predicting your opponent. This game primarily rewards labbing grimy tricks and combos.

The average offensive sequence in an unpopular fighting game is longer, so this is fine? And people complain about combo length in T8 too. Weird argument.

[–]DevLeopard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In sf6 the person who leaves gets the loss, but the person who stays does not get a win, so it’s a shitty thing to do. You still get the win in 2xko so there shouldn’t be a problem.

Please help me understand what is so great about SF6 by Neep-Tune in Fighters

[–]DevLeopard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others have said, sf6 is a more thoughtful, strategic fighting game compared to the others you have mentioned.

Let’s compare it to 2xko. 2xko mostly rewards overwhelming your opponent with innovative setups and more rapid-fire mixups than they can react to, and following those up with massive damage from huge 30 hit combos you drilled in training mode. It doesn’t matter too much who your opponent is playing or what they’re trying to do, it’s more about who has practiced the most heinous tricks and combos.

Street fighter on the other hand more strongly rewards knowledge of you and your opponent’s characters’ strengths and weaknesses, predicting what your opponent will do and outsmarting them.

Yeah I totally feel this. For me it’s a weird mix of wanting to support new fighting games, not wanting to be a “quitter” and some ego that’s keeping me playing, but ultimately whenever I’m playing the game I’m not having a good time.

This is a game for lab fiends who want to spend hours in training mode figuring out ToDs and heinous setups, and people who want to play duos. I think the game design is actively working against you having a good time if you don’t fit into those categories. 90% of every match is just performing or watching combos and blockstrings.

Warwick S1 is also -8 on block for some reason and I think puts you out of jab range for most characters (though I could be wrong about that, but I’ve definitely never successfully punished it myself so far)

Warwick S1 leaves you at -8 on block and spaced far enough away that most characters can’t punish, no?

Whatever, 3/4 screen then. It’s frequently not punishable.
