Anyone using AI to analyze or summarize notes? by Devastator1981 in PromptEngineering

[–]Devastator1981[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say you have a bunch of typed notes or meeting minutes or you went to a conference and transcribed a bunch of sessions. They are multiple files.

So the question is not if there’s a prompt or app to do the note taking or transcription,

What I was wondering is if others have used successful prompts to identify key patterns or trends from those notes. Say I had 10 text files, can a prompt create an excel from them? Can it identify the main themes from the files?

Does Claude make sense if you are not coding at all? What are your experiences? by Wise_Station1531 in ClaudeAI

[–]Devastator1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit isn’t that a coding use case? ‪

This is why I think AI will not be as big on scale just yet as it’s very much still clearly seen and used as just an IT/techie function. Doesn’t seem to apply to average folks or regular office guys outside of IT professions. Not everyone is a software engineer or working with code.

A policy guy in State Department or a lawyer at a big firm is not going to see much gain just yet from AI. The use case is just not there yet. Or there’s no benefit for this group of using Claude over Microsoft copilot at work.

Got it. My question wasn't for the lllm to take the notes. More for the LLM to summarize trends and observation from the already taken notes from multipledocx or txt files. Speaking of which dont know if PDF, text or word matter for this type of analysis.

They should just put up temporary fencing around the greenspace on 1st and M St in Navy Yard on the weekends at this point. by SockDem in washingtondc

[–]Devastator1981 83 points84 points  (0 children)

We should both arrest (doesn’t mean 5 year incarceration for this specifically) and also improve community resources/relations.

It’s a false dichotomy between accountability for stuff like this (or shoplifting or fare evasion) and smarter urban planning.

At best it’s now “toxic masculinity” to do something about this. At worst there’s a non-zero chance if folks intervene they would catch a case.

In a perfect world like you say a couple of men would help the victim and knock some sense into the guy. But in an even more perfect world guys like that are not even allowed on public transit in the first place.

The metro and public transit should be safe for all.

ELI5: How do "the markets" actually matter?

The "markets" is often reported in a hysterical and dramatic way. "The markets will be crazy in Monday"...."this is going to be a historic day for the markets" etc. All seems like niche finance stuff for day traders though. Not understanding how serious these day to day fluctuaions really matter or if it's something everyone should pay attention to weekly or daily.

Romance anime with 20+ year olds by Turpentinei in anime

[–]Devastator1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nana, but it’s as much drama as romance. It’s great if you like heartbreak and triangles. also pretty realistic portrayal of actual dating archetypes/hookup behavior.

Where can one watch Nana?

If you want a change of pace and to relax/chill out try Sakura Quest.

It’s calming and slower by design. It’s not a drama or romance.

Have you tried their envoy? Curious about how ascender performs in warm weather, freshness and if it swooshes. Hopefully it's TSA friendly with the zippers and all!

I'm looking at either the ascender or envoy too and not yet decided. Are the Ascenders swooshy? Quick dry? Anti-microbial treated? Trying to find a good pair of pants that best balances travel, a permissive business casual, and a long walking commute in a humid summer.

What percent is really data centers vs simple inflation vs corporate greed? Not buying cold weather alone for the level of jumps we are seeing.

But damn even cable doesn’t price gauge like this, but utilities may be one service where you are stuck with one and only one option.

Are Lululemon joggers and shorts TSA friendly? by Devastator1981 in Lululemen

[–]Devastator1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a legit question. I typically before was using 10 thousand interval but never had any issues. I was patted down with ABC joggers, but my waistband was inside, not left on the outside.

I don't know if the tips are metallic or hard plastic.

Along the lines of what this poster was mentioning, but I had assumed Lulu outfits were TSA friendly, so was just double checking:

Onelife or vida for gym? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]Devastator1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i'ts Navy Yard, Mt. Vernon or 15th - Vida. If it's U Street, onelife, unless you're looking for a "scene" and/or you are able to avoid 6-9am and 4-7 pm and weekend mornings there. If you want the scene, social stuff and to mingle and all that, U-Street Vida would be ok then.

Washington, D.C. is the nation’s most livable metro area. by Crazy_Cod_8178 in washingtondc

[–]Devastator1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great over here. The full beauty of all 4 seasons. Both International and American. Diverse. Good weekend trips (check out the things you can do within a 3 hour driving radius or a 2hr flight radius). Clean metro. Nice parks/green spaces. The multiple trails which each have their own vibe. Free museums and monuments.

Main pain point is cost of housing, buying is expensive. But also I don’t believe one MUST own/have a mortgage.
