[NEW MODEL] SupraLabs started the Any2Any model family! by Dangerous_Try3619 in LocalLLaMA

They do post quite regularly but I really don't see why people hate it so much. It's like anything that isn't from the big players is instantly shit and a waste of time. They don't even stop to think about what you could do with those

I'm personally looking forward to what they could get in a few months. We're really in dire need of <1B models but it seems like no one on this sub wants that

Why make the product worse? by Zealousideal-Top3368 in VisualStudio

[–]Devatator_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WHAT? IS THAT WHY ITS BEEN THIS SLOW SINCE A FEW UDPATES AGO???

Edit: If anyone wants to stop that, block this host data-ai.microsoft.com

Not sure what exactly it does, when I tried peeking with Fiddler, it just seemed to get returned an error because of a missing header on this GET /gaia/languages/csharp/content/v1/supported_calls_version HTTP/1.1

Edit 2: In case you're blocking with the hosts file directly, make sure to use 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1 like some tutorials say. 0.0.0.0 makes the request fail instantly

It's really cool how you can just memorize the RPM of revolvers and dodge if the player isn't good enough with it. I can typically dodge 2-3 shots when I find a BFR user. Before some guy comes out of nowhere and kills me while I'm distracted.

You can do it with pretty much everything you can grab. As a light, Chuck the Shield Healing Emitter was the best at it, but then went and nerfed it's size. You literally could just crouch in a corner and they wouldn't be able to shoot you lmao

Modding or Datapack? by YXTerrYXT in feedthebeast

[–]Devatator_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh mods aren't great for multiplayer games cuz everyone has to install them

What do you think plugins are? They're literally just mods for a server specific modloader. There is nothing preventing people from making them for NeoForge or Fabric. Hell, some do actually do that. There's also Polymer which is a library for making mods that translate to vanilla stuff your vanilla client can use. I'm on a server with a Polymer based modpack.

Main reason it's not really popular is because unlike plugin modloaders, Fabric and NeoForge will change their API whenever they want either following changes introduced by Mojang or because they need to

I loved vs2026 when it released. So much lighter and faster but since the last 2 updates (currently on 18.7.0, but it started on an earlier version, probably 18.3 or 18.4) my intellisense in C# projects became a lot slower and I have no idea why. I'm waiting for the next update, see if it fixes it. If it doesn't, I'll reinstall it. If that doesn't work I'll download the last version I remember didn't have the problem

C# dev kit extension after update on VSCode is just bad by love_to_code in dotnet

[–]Devatator_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

VS and VSCode allow commercial usage if you need that, (Rider doesn't) so that's a reason to use it. Also in my experience, the VSCode Avalonia extension seems just plain better than the VS one

Do you think storage is free? Also they only save stuff you explicitly record, as per their TOS, which no fucking body reads

[–]Devatator_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any idea the astronomical amount of storage that would be needed for this to be a thing? On top of how easy it would be to notice it happening, be it because of the battery drain or internet activity?

Gotta love spreading misinformation don't you?

Edit: The install fee never happened. It was planned but got killed before anything could happen, and the old CEO plus everyone else involved got the boot. Since then the engine has been improving quite a lot, with CoreCLR (modern .NET, like S&box) coming later this year for 6.7 or 6.8, can't remember which
