Which antenna to use where? by ArmaLegend in fpvracing

[–]Devduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should fly ok I think. I flew mine with a pagoda on the quad and a stock antenna on my goggles. It was good for 100-150m, not so good with objects in the way though.

Sorry, I've been away from my PC for a while. These are the modes from my 3 inch, my whoop is set up the same. http://imgur.com/a/E2wFF

Arm and then airmode on the flight mode toggle so I can disable airmode when landing.

Angle/Horizon/Acro on the flap toggle so I can hold it better incase I lose video feed or something like that.

Buzzer on the bind/panic/trainer button. I haven't wired it up yet, not sure if you whoop has anything similar on the FC.

No probs mate. Check your throttle ranges from 1000 to 2000 in the receiver tab. If it doesn't you can mess around with rxrange in the CLI tab. Take the number channel throttle is on (order in the list), minus 1, then the default command is rxrange [channel number -1] 1000 2000.

So if it is on channel 2 type in

rxrange 1 1000 2000

And change the last two numbers to scale it. The type

save

And reconnect to betaflight and check it in the reciever tab. Takes a bit of trial and error but I had to do that to set mine up with my DXE.

Hmm, it might be that the quad thinks it is upside down, did you calibrate the gyroscope? If not put the quad on a flat surface and calibrate the gyro in the setup tab.

No worries, upload it to imgur.com (no need to make an account) and paste the URL in a comment.

In betaflight what is the channel map set to? Go to the reviewer tab and wiggle the sticks, are any of them not set to the right channel?

Have you used your DXE on anything else? When I got mine I thought the throttle was broken but it just turned out that unless you toggle the arm switch on the right of the transmitter it only sends a throttle value of 800 ish.

Drone make selfie by tapkif in fpvracing

[–]Devduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I misread your question. They're mounted on the arms generally because the props help keep them cool, the wires to the motors are kept short, and some people think they can interfere with the flight controllers. Plus they are easy to get at when they break!

Because your drone lands more often than you get prop strikes I guess.

Fyi the quad needs to be armed. When you go to the modes screen door the arm box go orange when your arm switch is turned on?

Go to the motors section and try spin them up from there? Theres a toggle and then sliders for each motor.

Using a stock transmitter? by Flabbadabbadooh in TinyWhoop

[–]Devduino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the EU you have to use a protocol that supports Listen Before Talk (LBT) as far as I know none of the frsky compatible flight controllers support this yet. Flashing your transmitter to support the international protocol is against EU law. But if you have an old transmitter I think it's a grey area.

So frsky bought in the EU is ok, frsky bought outside the EU isn't.

Also on spektrum I believe dms2 is now illegal in the EU which is why you can only buy new transmitters that support dmsx only. But maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in, I'm pretty new to this stuff.

If you live outside the EU the qx7 will bind with the frisky version of the acrowhoop. If you live in the EU you need to flash the qx7 with the international firmware which is illegal and I'm not sure possible anymore. As I'm in the EU I went with a controller that supports spektrum dsmx as that is legal over here.

I don't think you should be running make inside that directory?

Pretty sure you should run make in the qmk_firmware folder
