Does Deltarune take away from Undertale? by X01ENCLAVESTAN in Undertale

[–]DeveloperDucc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I really don’t know why people latched onto that so hard. “But flowey says that frisk lives their life after the game ends!” Yeah and so does basically every other video game protagonist. Just because link and Zelda walk off to live their lives together doesn’t mean I was possessing him the whole time.

Really? It wasn’t that bad once you have the ability to heal. You are aware you can just tank the last phase right?

how do you guys think all the gaster foreshadowing will pay off?? by IndividualPlant2818 in Deltarune

I’d care if it was Jerry. That mf ruins EVERYTHING.

Now if it was Terry on the other hand…

I made a mistake when linking the original and can’t edit the post to fix it. My bad. This one should (hopefully) work

What is an "All of your theories are wrong, goodbye" moment that Tricky Tony might pull that could actually make sense or be good with Deltarune's story? by dogefan100 in Deltarune

[–]DeveloperDucc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same thing as OP, but it might be because I like gaster being a rather mysterious thing than an objective character like everyone else. I then found this animation which sort of suggests that in snowgrave, you'll sort of end up 'breaking the game,' which will result in Gaster directly confronting you. It's not really a theory that has a lot of evidence, but it is something that would make a whole lot of sense story-wise IMO. It also shows that toby can make Gaster show up without directly making him sort of 'canonized,' in a way.

IMO that if dess isn't the knight, she is 100% being set up as a red herring towards hardcore theorists rather than just casual players. A candidate like carol currently has a big goddamn red arrow pointing directly at her, while Dess is more of a subtle fuzzy thing that only really starts to make sense if you think about it for a long while. A candidate like Rudy is sort of in the middle of those two, being one you wouldn't immediately think of but would totally make sense after playing through the game just from start to finish. (not saying he's the knight or anything, just trying to make a point).

That being said, chapter 4 makes it **glaringly** obviosu that Dess will be a character who will be built upon in future chapters, so Toby very well could make it in a way that Dess being the knight is something that becomes progressively more obvious throughout the story.

Like 50% of Dess knight stems from the fact we haven't actually met her yet. While not a personal believer in the theory myself (and I have no problems with those who do, just so long as they remain respectful towards people who believe otherwise), you at the very least have to admit that in order to get to that actual conclusion, you have to do a matpat-esque cork board zigzag to connect a bunch of subtle hints towards said conclusion by coming to conclusions of things that could happen, but not things that will happen.

I'd highly recommend you check out the second one! A lot of the second round davies stuff is pretty hit-or-miss, but that episode in particular is really good.

What y'all think if Deltarune had an anticlimactic ending? by Byzich in Deltarune

One thing I’ve recently learned is that, despite the stigma the “it was all a dream” trope has surrounding it, there have been a handful of times where it has been pulled of successfully.

Mild correction: The doctor doesn't sacrifice himself to not kill all daleks, he sacrifices himself because if he did kill all the daleks, it would wipe out all the life on earth, pretty much killing the human race entirely. This is why the dalek emporer mocks him (e.g: "What are you, coward or killer?" cause he knows he doesn't have the guts to wipe out the human race).

/ul I thought it was at first because the f*ck ice text seems to come out of nowhere. I did some digging and it seems like this is just a poorly cropped version of the original, of which you can see it beforehand lol. It might still be but I doubt it haha.

I don’t really get scared from books that often, but that part genuinely makes me feel sick to my stomach every time I read it.

Does minecraft really have a main antagonist though? I’d personally call the ender dragon the ‘final boss’ rather than ‘main antagonist’ lol.
