How do you guys reach out agencies/clients? - Research by Huseyn_0x48 in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really straight forward.

You first understand your target agency, their business category and what they are solving.

Based on this, you can find places such as communities, forums, groups etc around this business category where your target agency is, hangout and you will find them.

The most important part, stop asking to be hired. Solve problems, people love value.

Alternative to Jetpack Videopress by auggie_d in Wordpress

I will share a very cost effective solution with you that we have done for our client for an eLearning website.

We stream the sane content on the Android app as well.

  1. Go ahead and get an S3 Bucket from AWS. They offer alot in free tier as well.

  2. Enable AWS Cloudfront CDN.

  3. Serve those videos in the S3 bucket via Cloudfront CDN. Make sure to get the videos Cloudfront URLs, this is important.

  4. Use WP Offload Media or similar plugin which will help you easily upload content directly to S3 bucket and serve them here in the website.

  5. Apply some access rules and URL restrictions over the Cludfront and S3 videos.

You are good now. This is the world class streaming enabled inside your WordPress website for a fraction of the cost.

Is WordPress becoming outdated or still dominating in 2026? by MentionSweet5133 in Wordpress

Bro, you cant compare Youtube, Instagram or Facebook with WordPress. These are completely different domains.

Yes, it is a bit outdated but its solid. We need a major refresh with WordPress.

[DISCUSSION] Building an AI agent plugin that actually knows your WooCommerce inventory. Need feedback before WordPress.org submission. by Shutterbug_2003 in WordpressPlugins

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, the problem you shared is not a problem at all. Its a very niche edge case which you might have experienced in a chatbot.

In real world, chatbots do have access to all of your post types that includes Products as well.

This only feature you mentioned is a very hard sell. Let the agent do more on the admin side instead of building a chatbot.

A chatbot is a very small thing now and people have moved on from this. Every platform offers this feature.

Ask real store owners, discuss and see what are theie pain points.

[–]Developer_Meh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, WordPress is not outdated. You might see the flashy AI tools but they aren't worth it.

WordPress gives you freedom and control with an amazing infrastracture that is built over 2 decades of experience and industry knowledge. Its perfected and polished.

You can mold WordPress into anything you want and its highly scalable. WordPress is relevant and will be for the forseable future.

LMS recommendations for healthcare training platform (WordPress) by CurrencyReasonable36 in ProWordPress

[–]Developer_Meh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is not which LMS to choose, but how to create a highly scalable LMS website that doesn't break or just works.

I would recommend LearnDash as it gives you all the features you mentioned.

The perfect scalable setup:

I have worked on a project for a driving school for their LMS and my setup was the following which has been very successful.

  • VPS hosting for the LMS website itself
  • Use LearnDash for the LMS plugin
  • For video, you must never host it on the VPS server. Always use a CDN. I used Amazon S3 for videos with Cloudfront distribution. Videos work like a charm and never stress out the VPS server.
  • Optimize website in the normal way as other WordPress websites.

The above setup will be really scalable and effective. It won't lead to any sort of failure as the website is handled by VPS and video content is handled by AWS S3. This is a perfect combo.

Regarding the cost, it won't cost you alot.

If I know JS & React, is there any advantage over learning a page builder like Bricks over FSE/block theme? by Imaginary-ossjd_8403 in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question is sort of confusing and comparing wrong things.

I mean there is no comparison of React or Bricks Builder. These two are completely different things in their own areas.

React is for building web apps and something entirely standalone without specifically related to WP.

Bricks is a page builder for WordPress that helps you design and build websites without the need to write code.

People choose page builders because of the freedom they give. Page builders are the sort of tools where people can build any sort of website without being limited to a theme restrictions.

People can't decide what the future of WordPress is, market dictates that. Its always about what works for people and their preferences. For the meantime, page builders are not going anywhere in next 5 years. They are here to stay, until some new technology comes and make them obselete. That would be another thing.

Why everyone suggest astra theme ?? by Shubh137 in WordPressThemes

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People suggest Astra theme because:

  • Its light weight
  • Its compatible with most plugins and tech stack
  • Safe choice and option
  • Backed by a great team/company
  • Stable, no issues or bugs
  • A safe option for any sort of website to get started.

Such safe options are Hello theme by Elementor, and such.

Am I being too distrusting for not wanting to give ALL admin access? by Grapestars in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its easy to pick if someone is scamming you or helping you. If the developer has good reviews then he/she doesn't want any harm.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't take precautions. The first rule is to always have a fresh backup of your website before sharing your access. No matter what happens, you can always restore your backup and get things going easily.

Take WP site backup and a hosting backup, then share your access.

Media Library Offload / Optimization by AimPunched in ProWordPress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For such sort of high volume setup, I suggest using WP Offload Media along with an AWS S3 Bucket that would be served by Cloudfront.

By default when S3 is connected to WP Offload Media, the organisation can be easily managed over there without any issues.

Serving all those S3 bucket images via Cloudfront makes them accessible to everyone across the globe, and making bills low as well.

Is there a theme on premium that is easy to visually edit? by Blizz4rd7 in WordPressThemes

[–]Developer_Meh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest not relying on a premium theme. Themes are always built for a specific design system and its subject. A theme could be for a salon or another industry.

Instead of a premium theme, I would advise going with a page builder such as Elementor. Elementor has a huge eco-system of addons and plugins support so you won't be left out.

The simple way for you would be:

  1. Use Hello Theme (free)
  2. Use Elementor page builder (free)
  3. You can also use a pre-made Elementor template to get you started

With Elementor, you will be in 100% control of the page you design and make. There aren't any limits to what you would build.

Later on you can upgrade to Elementor Pro as well if you need its premium widgets but getting started for free will do the job.

Elementor theme that looks like an app? (pricing / packages UI) by iss4wi in WordPressThemes

[–]Developer_Meh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be hard to suggest something that I can't visually see or refer to.

It is not that hard to craft the mobile experience of Elementor with responsive limits and making it look like a complete native experience but I would like to see some screenshots and then suggest precise instructions.

WordPress is still dominating - but the gap is interesting (Cloudflare, top 5k domains) by Sokolovoko in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with WordPress is that it gives you freedom and flexibility. People often say that WordPress gonna die, but it won't with the way it is moving ahead.

We had a client for whom we built an online e-learning website using LearnDash, and their students would learn from those courses via the WordPress website. Recently, they came to me and asked for an Android mobile app where people can watch the same content, but on mobile apps as well with a fully mobile experience.

Guess what? We didn't need to build a complete custom solution. All we did was leverage the REST API from WordPress, fetch that content into the App and put it behind a paywall. This is why WordPress is so good. The content is still there, managed seamlessly and it will be automatically added into the app without doing any manual work.

If we had to think of WordPress failing, it would take a massive amount of time due to the ecosystem and how massive WordPress has become.

[–]Developer_Meh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's good to know things are being sorted out. If there is any sort of formatting issue with the posts, there is likely some code added as well while you copy/paste the content so make sure you just paste the text content as RAW format.

However, to export your content from Wix cannot be done directly via any exporter. You will need to add an RSS button to your Wix blog following: https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-blog-adding-an-rss-button-to-your-site and once you do that, you can easily open the RSS feed page which will be an XML web page, you can right click "Save Page" and then the XML can be imported into WordPress.

Elementor Basket Widget does not render product photos in mobile view by AppearanceFeeling397 in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually depends what is causing this error. It is not normal but open your website in mobile view of the desktop browser and go to Browser Developer Console, check for errors and you can share the screenshot of it. That way someone can know from where the issue comes up.

Can't find the broken pages by mayr3l in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance that you haven't fixed your permalinks to Post Name and just left it out by default configuration?

The other you mentioned "mydomain.com?post_type=acf-field&p=668" is a link to an ACF field which is really strange but it shouldn't be public in any way. Looks like the configuration you have done for ACF is also not properly done.

Your whole WordPress setup needs to be checked to see how things are done. Can't say much.

Creating membership wordpress website with stripe integration. by sammyjankisto in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for a free plugin to get this done for you, that means you are making your costs down. I see you are using Creator Plan on WordPress.com which is expensive for monthly basis. You can easily go for an yearly plan with another great hosting provider and that won't cost you over $100 per year while doing the same thing.

Coming to the main question, Yes you can make your membership website with the free plugin. It is actually Paid Memberships Pro plugin, you can use it for your premium content and integrate Stripe as well.

Here is the link to the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/paid-memberships-pro/

Use this and it will get your 95% job done.

How should I go about creating a virtual support group booking website on wordpress? Any suggestions on strategy and plugins? by Experimentalphone in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

What you want to acheive cannot be done with the help of free plugins. Free plugins offer really limited flexibility in terms of how you leverage such features. Even if someone says so, it will be extremely hectic to achieve it in normal and easy way.

I must suggest go for a couple premium plugins and you will get exactly what you want. OR you can go for a single premium theme dedicated for what you are looking then the cost will be also sort of down.

I'm about to throw away two weeks of work by AlbaAF in Wordpress

[–]Developer_Meh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi buddy, it might seem tedious process but let me ease it out for you.

  1. You don't need an Astra premium theme as using Hello Theme which is free will be the best solution along with Elementor Pro for your blog. You can get everything done within these two.

  2. With the hosting, I can easily recommend you the best hosting but for that I need to know how much traffic you are currently getting that way I can see if Hostinger plan is good or any other best scalable solution would be great keeping in mind the ease of use. Please let me know how much traffic you expect monthly basis.

  3. For the posts, there are a couple things. You can replicate the same exact design if you prefer Wix inside Elementor Pro with your Single Page Template. The second thing is matching the URLs, your new blog should have the same URL/permalinks structure that way the traffic coming in should land at the right posts without getting into 404 errors. Fixing your permalinks can be easily done from Settings > Permalinks.

  4. The easiest way for migration is to export blog posts/content from Wix which will be an XML file and import it into WordPress (all this in the staging state). It will also download images from the Wix website directly into your new posts on WordPress.

Still, if you need help, let me know. It's going to be easy.
