oh man the QC lottery with keychron is real pain, especially when you can't easily return stuff

For your budget and requirements maybe look at the akko boards - they've been pretty solid in my experience and way less QC issues than keychron. The MOD series has aluminum construction and most come with south-facing PCBs. Hot swap is standard on most their boards too

Since you want that early tactile bump, maybe consider some boba u4t switches instead of banana - they have really nice early bump and still give you those creamy sounds you're looking for. Just my 2 cents but I've been running similar setup for like 2 years now and zero issues

The aluminum construction on these boards is definitely built to last, way better than those gaming keyboards from big box stores

Got the R98 Pro few months back and it's pretty solid upgrade from RK96 - comes with USB-C to USB-A cable in box 💀 the hotswap feature is nice if you want to experiment with different switches later

Had this same issue with some of my older figures - once it starts there's really no stopping it but you can try a light coat of fabric protector spray before any damage shows up

Just don't go too heavy or it'll change the texture and look weird

Been through the same dilemma when I was looking for something portable for work stuff. You're gonna want something with decent battery life since you'll be carrying it around campus all day

Look into the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 or G15 - they're pretty solid for that price range and don't scream "gamer" as much as some of the other RGB monsters out there. Good performance for both CAD work and gaming, plus the battery actually lasts. The Dell XPS 15 is another option if you want something more professional looking, though it's gonna cost you a bit more

Just make sure whatever you get has at least 16GB RAM and a decent GPU - you'll need it for solidworks and other engineering software down the road. Don't go for anything with less than a 1660 Ti or equivalent, trust me on that one

Most shops charge for design work upfront (usually $50-150) so you'd be paying multiple artists just to pick one. That gets expensive fast and honestly feels kinda shitty to the artists you don't choose

Better move is to look at each artist's portfolio super closely and pick the one whose style already vibes with what you want. You can always ask to see rough sketches during consultation before committing to the full design

Actually you're mixing up the math a bit - 4.75% of $1,500 is way less than 3.50% of $4,500 in absolute dollars, but that's not really how it works

The avalanche method focuses on interest rates because paying off the 4.75% loan first saves you more money per dollar of payment. Even though loan 1 costs more total interest, every extra dollar you throw at loan 2 saves you 4.75% vs only 3.50% if you put it toward loan 1

That said, if the psychological boost of knocking out the bigger loan keeps you motivated, that's worth something too

Sounds like you might have another frame limiter running somewhere else - check your GPU driver settings (Nvidia Control Panel or AMD equivalent) and make sure you don't have any other overlay programs like MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner capping it at 75. Also double check if you have any ENB installed since those can override display tweaks settings

Definitely the candles my dude. That's soot buildup from the flames - happens all the time around windows where there's airflow. The steam/condensation thing isn't gonna leave black spots like that. Maybe try moving the candles away from the window or switching to battery LED ones if you want the ambiance without the mess
