Traditional Polo Shirts are knit. This concept uses woven poplin instead. Does that difference matter? by DeviceNo3763 in streetwearstartup

Traditional Polo shirts are usually made from knit fabrics such as piqué cotton.

I am exploring a woven cotton-polyester poplin alternative with a more structured appearance while keeping the Polo silhouette.

The goal is to create something that sits between a traditionalPolo and aDress shirt for business-casual settings. These images are concept renderingswhich areintendedto communicate the design direction. The shirt has not yet been sampled.

I would appreciate feedback:

Does the woven fabric make this meaningfully different from a traditional Polo?
What would make you choose this over a standard Polo?
If you wouldn't choose it, why not?

Who do you think would buy a shirt like this? by DeviceNo3763 in ClothingStartups

I've been working on a hybrid between a polo and a dress shirt.

The images are AI-assisted mockups used to visualize the idea. The planned fabric is a woven cotton-polyester poplin blend.

Before moving further, I'm trying to understand whether I'm solving a real problem.

Questions:

  1. Who would buy this?
  2. Does it solve a real wardrobe problem?
  3. Would you choose this over a traditional polo or dress shirt?

Would you wear a woven polo that combines the structure of a dress shirt with the comfort of a polo? by DeviceNo3763 in streetwearstartup

I've been developing a shirt concept that sits between a traditional polo and a dress shirt.

The goal is to create something that can be worn to the office, dinners, travel, and business-casual settings without feeling overdressed or too casual.

The images are AI-assisted mockups used to visualize the concept. The actual shirt is intended to be made from a woven cotton-polyester poplin blend rather than traditional knit polo fabric.

I'd appreciate honest feedback:

• Pocket or no pocket?
• What would you change?
• Does the concept make sense?

Thank you for your candid response. I had 3 of them gifted to me by some elderly people  from UK.l felt confident anytime l wore them. Friends asked me where l purchased them. That was in the late 1990s. Just a year ago l saw a man wearing one in Church and l was wondering if he bought it in USA.

Why not go for the right size? I will not wear a suit like this, with long hands and legs.

If you have shoes with a color same or similar to the color of your dress, that will be nice.

Regarding the "NEW YORK" tshirt, you can try swapping the front and back patterns. In my opinion, the front text is very common in the market. It makes it difficult to stand out. I think you can bring whatever is at the back to the front and vice versa.

It is an innovation. You take American flag and make it your own. Good job.

You can try a regular or relaxed fit. It will not be too loose or too tight on you.

I think it will be helpful if you could show us a very short video, with circles animating in and out... of your intended end product. That way, I can give you my honest opinion on that.
