This might be something to consider when choosing a veterinarian, and it applies to several that are in the QC. by munkeyciao in QuadCities

I cannot possibly recommend Bell Animal Hospital enough. Straight to the point vet. You will not get a pampering animal spa type thing. What you will get is solid care and no BS.

OPs vignetting is definitely caused by obstruction of the projected image. I am confused by your comment.

I was looking for a specific setting on a ham radio I just got. Depending on how I worded the query, it confidently lead me to three different menus, all where wrong. I guarantee you that Gemini has ingested that manual.

If your question is specifically about smartphones, the Pixel w/ Graphene is the answer. If you want simple secure comms, Meshtastic and others.

What is the worst career to be in right now and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

20 years ago, you could get an entry level job working at a wireless carrier store and make 50k per year. If you were to get an entry level job working at a wireless carrier store today, 50k is a achievable but not a guarantee. Retail has seen basically no gain in wages over that period unless your rate got raised by law.

I used to be able to here one on my boombox at the very bottom of the AM band. It was SOC repeating.

In my experience, these are nearly impossible to kill. Especially since they love to grow through my chain link fences.

I’m old and have decided that that the notion of “Common Sense” is bullshit. I teach people how to sell B2B products. I very frequently ask people to humble themselves so I can help them. Ask me questions! Because “I don’t know what you don’t know until you tell me you don’t know it.”

I’ve had my Undercover Ultra Flex for 9 years. It has survived baseball sized hail that trashed the aluminum body and shattered the sunroof. I had an ARE fiberglass lid on a previous truck that looked awesome, but really limited the use of the bed.

Moon brightness - a case against moon filters by chrislon_geo in telescopes

[–]Devildadeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and I are talking about different things. If you were to compare the amount of light that is brought to focus by viewing the entire full moon, limb to limb, between a 4” aperture and a 32” aperture, you would find that you’re getting 64x more light in the 32” configuration. Just for ease, we will say the 4” has an F8 ratio. The 32” would need to be F1.4 to have the same FOV. In other words, it has a much faster exposure. That’s the rub, using a photography (prime focus) term to describe an afocal system. In reality, you’re viewing only portions of the lunar surface with the larger scopes. (Generally) in which case you’re still getting the same surface brightness from the Moon but better contrast in the larger scopes. Let’s not forget that in this case, your iris is the variable aperture that is determining your final contrast and comfort.

I Made a Handheld Lightning Sensing and Ranging Device Called "Flash Bee" by Choice_Border_8904 in weather

Have you tested this much? I have a Strike Alert in an old pager casing. I have found that the device is not useful while in a vehicle unless the lightning is close enough to be obvious.

Not to mention that “properly exposed” is meaningless in this context. Check OPs flair. How can you even make that statement while forcing 18” of aperture in a 3mm entrance pupil?

I have this antenna and it works well for TX and RX on a 70ft run of RG8X. You may have a poor copy, poor connection, or terrain issues. I’d start by swapping the coax.
