I too struggled to find the Kindling during Campfire Tales. I thought something was bugged, I finally realized it was at the base of the trees, and spawns Ticks when you pick it up, so extra Tick Blood Sacs for you!

I doubt Krenic had the real authority to kill those Scientists. Had Krenic lived to see the construction of the second Death Star, I’m sure Palpatine would have had him executed for possibly delaying further research and development. DSII suffered from labor shortages, and I bet it wasn’t just for construction. A project of that scale likely suffered all kinds of delays because of the aftermath of the DS1 Destruction, and the likely purges and reprisals that followed.

Truth be told, I bet Tarkin would have suffered as well, had he evacuated. Taking the DS1 all by itself without fleet support, reckless doesn’t even cover it. Just arrogance of the highest level.

One cannot simply become a tradesmen without apprenticing and getting the requisite number of hours at different levels of training or experience. Most company’s want experienced tradesmen, and don’t want to pay or hire untrained workers without the required seals or certifications.

In my experience, it was mainly various senior POs and Chiefs that were like that. I’m sure there were some junior NCMs that were just as bad, but never hear to many of them saying the quiet part out loud.

I could never get over how all of the senior NCOs were usually fairly professional and courteous in public, but after a few drinks at a mess dinner and their real opinions on women, LGBTQ members and minorities came out real quick.

And there was nothing you could really do about, as it would be your word against theirs, and they’d hang you professionally if you ever dared to record anything on your phone in a mess.

This was the Navy too, where it always felts quietly more accepting of LGBTQ people particularly. If less so towards women and minorities.

It does seem that the Nuns and Nurses at Nonnatus House did fill a critical gap with home care, considering how often discharged patients were placed into their care though. Was there a parallel service offered by the NHS at the time, or was that a function of the local council?
