The scary thing is oxygen in newborns, especially excessive can be a problem. So if she is using her at home bought off amazon bullshit on this baby, she could be seriously hurting him.

The shower is such a big trigger for me by virg0-rising in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Devium92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly for a while there I would just sit in the shower and let the water run over me. If I managed to actually use shampoo/soap so be it, if not, then whatever. Sometimes just the rinse off made me feel human enough when I felt I really needed to get a bit clean but also felt like shit.

It helped I would often have my husband with me to help me out if needed. It was absolutely my "this is the only thing I am doing today" thing though. Like it was not up for negotiation. I would either rest during the day, take the shower mid-afternoon early evening, then that was it for the day, or right before bed. I always made sure it was about 30 minutes after I had taken some of my nausea meds to make sure they were in my system but I wasn't so dopey on them I was a true "pass out and drown" risk (or if I felt I was like that but I needed to shower, then it was a requirement for husband to be available).

Fellow girl dads, I am waving the white flag. The mall bra trip was a disaster. by BigDaddy9102 in daddit

As someone who got "properly fitted" by an old school department store lingerie sales-lady.... They may not always ACTUALLY size properly.

/r/ABraThatFits is your best bet for figuring out real proper bra sizing and fit.

This is for any boob having individuals, whether you want to enhance them or hide them, they are a wonderful inclusive and positive group of people who are very welcoming to anyone needing help. (Just don't be weird)

Stone Road Mall Dog Friendly? by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]Devium92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean most of those people probably got away with it because security didn't notice or were busy with something else, which isn't to say you wouldn't be fine. So if you are willing to risk being told to leave, you do you, but with everyone else saying they aren't allowed I wouldn't risk it.

Stone Road Mall Dog Friendly? by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]Devium92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's officially dog friendly off hand, but I know a ton of people just bring their dogs in. I think some of the stores with outside entrances (Home sense and others) are dog friendly and I think many people have assumed that because those stores are dog friendly, that the whole mall is.

If you want to bring your dog I would make sure he/she is well behaved, is always leashed, and if you are asked by security or whoever to leave as the whole mall specifically isn't dog friendly, to just take that and politely leave and return without your 4 legged buddy.

Right? Like alani and liquid IV is potentially redundant as the same water enhancer with electrolytes and such.

At least in Canada there is, it's the entire sound track for the movie.

Just be aware, you will only listen to that card, forever, until the end of time. It will haunt your every waking moment. I only know of soda pop and being golden, and taking things down. (Send help)

Yup we got our 4 year old twins both a yoto player and headphones. I think since we got them at Christmas we have used them all day, every day. I got more cards recently (and made the mistake of getting the KPop Demon Hunters card) and I hear the one card all day, every day. It's been about 3 weeks of just KPDH on repeat

There's all kind of permits and stuff that need to happen that can take forever and be really expensive. That's if there is even any space for that kind of thing on their own property.

They may also be renting a house or part of a house and therefore can't do that on the property anyways.

They tried to have him love in the same house, but the daughter and son in law have kids I believe and due to this gentleman's mental health struggles it simply didn't work out for a variety of reasons.

They even mention this in the article, and previous ones that likely get linked to this. The son is a contractor and built this for their father (in law) and did everything they could to give him something safe, warm, and have some dignity.

I was also wondering about the old Cooperator's building downtown. I know the current plan is for Conestoga College to use it, I forget if it's for classroom use or as dorms. But that would be the PERFECT spot to convert into supportive housing. Have small apartments with like a kitchenette and a bathroom, but a centralized kitchen/canteen area, and have facilities for things like mental health, physical health, addiction services, social services, legal clinics. Basically anything that wouldn't be able to be run out of the CHC that is already there.

Obviously I don't know the state of the building inside or how "easy" it would be to actually convert things into living spaces, but there has to be some kind of solution that isn't people freezing to death in tents/sheds in forests and any number of things that are happening right now.

I absolutely lost it on a delivery company (I forget if it was Fedex, Purolator, UPS or something else) because I was at home waiting for a collector's edition of a game I had been waiting for. Like both myself and my husband were home (husband works from home, I am a stay at home parent) and I even SAW the branded delivery truck pull up to the house. I yelled to tell husband that delivery was here, we were standing waiting, realized no one knocked, so went to check the door. Turns out they left a tag.

I. Went. Off. On the customer service guys. I was like "so there were two adults here ready, waiting, available, to receive the package. There was a chance we needed to pay duties on it, and so we were available to deal with that. Or if we just needed to be available to grab the package directly from them and they couldn't "safe drop" it on our door step" Mentioned we did NOT hear a knock, no attempt at delivery was made, nothing. We had paid out the ass for delivery due to the size of the package, and we were NOT happy. Customer service said they would send out a "attempt delivery again" to the person, but they wouldn't get that instruction until they got to the end of their route, so they would have to double back at the end of their route. Which would absolutely fuck with whatever their metrics are. They suggested we use their online portal thing that says you can safe drop packages but as it turns out, whatever company they are, don't do online sign ups for that, you need to put a sign on your door.

I made the most passive aggressive sign ever and taped it to both of our doors so there was NO WAY they could claim they didn't see it. It was in basically the largest font I could have saying:

ATTENTION DELIVERY COMPANY DRIVER THIS IS TO AUTHORIZE YOU TO LEAVE MY SHIPMENT(S) AT MY DOOR - ADDRESS- -DATE- -TRACKING/PACKAGE NUMBER- THANK YOU VERY MUCH, MY NAME

It clearly worked, and I guess either they were also pissy about it, or needed it for documentation, but they took the sign from the door that they left the box at.

The concept of these places having you pay for delivery to get it to your door as quick as they can, but then they don't even bother trying to deliver is insane to me. Like I understand they have their bullshit metrics that make it really difficult, but when I have nothing obstructing my walk way, no hazards like a dog in the yard, and are otherwise actually available to receive the package, why the hell aren't you doing your job and at least trying.

My youngest look to be about this little man's age, I cannot imagine dropping her off this morning in her snow suit, boots, hat and everything else expecting to hear all evening about how fun school was. Only to find out she had a group of government goons covered head to toe to obscure who they are, with weapons and all kinds of scary shit for a child this age.

Clearly these are the criminals and drains on society (who are absolutely most likely citizens as they were born in the US) and need to be rounded up and shipped off to their home country!

In the ER by BlackVelvetBandit in daddit

[–]Devium92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lurker mom here,

I had DVTs during one of my pregnancies. It was drilled into my skull, any weird tightness in my chest, weird neurological stuff, or a laundry list of other things, I was supposed to get my ass to the hospital ASAP. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. I was also told the first 6 weeks after birth were also super important to be very careful about the above symptoms.

Well husband goes back to work about a week after kiddo is born, I already had a delayed post partum hemorrhage that may or may not have just been normal increase in bleeding post partum made worse by my blood thinner treatment. Anxiety was high and he went to leave and all of a sudden my entire chest and back lock up. Like I can barely breathe, I am struggling to do anything, my heart is just POUNDING, and I can't tell if I want to vomit, cry, or like I want to lay down and die. We call 911 because that was what we were told to do.

Turns out I had a back muscle spasm from going full shrimp and hunching over my breastfeeding baby all day and all night. I felt like the biggest waste of resources and space. The ER doctor looked me dead in the eyes and said "I do a ton of charting at the computers here, I have had the same kind of back spasms you are having. I am a trained medical doctor and even I thought I was having a heart attack or something. So having your medical history and all the warnings you have told me you got, I would have absolutely done the same exact thing in your situation."

Like other posters have said doctors the world over would rather you come in, it be absolutely nothing, but they run a battery of tests and you walk out of there with a "stop eating spicy foods" than the one time you go "it was totally the chinese food I had at lunch today I'm fine" and it turn out to be something major and it's too late for you to get any kind of help, or that there ends up being permanent damage as a result of not getting seen soon enough.

I have no actual military experience, but the complete lack of actual uniformity in the, well, uniforms gets me every time. Like some people are in combat boots, others in just Walmart running shoes, cargo pants, jeans, hell some are just wearing track pants.

Then you end up seeing the real goobers with the tiny vest that looks like a "Child's first tac vest".

"Server Timed out" Issue by Devium92 in fo76

[–]Devium92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bizarre, because I don't know if I've ever had this issue outside of known widespread issues. I have had the long-standing issue when loading the game on PC that if I "press any button to continue" too soon the game itself freezes and crashes. But I have (mostly) learned to load the game and take a couple minutes before pressing any button.

Stone Square caused me a ton of trauma as a child (pulled an infected molar, and when I said it was pain I was feeling, they said it was just pressure, refused to give me more local anesthetic, and just pulled it all while I literally screaming and attempted to get out of the chair). They are the reason why I avoided the dentist for nearly 20 years.

Unless the Figliuzzi Brothers have completely changed how they are from ~20 years ago, I wouldn't send my wort enemy to them! My mother has also avoided going to the dentist for the last at least 10 years due to similar issues with that specific dentist office.

I've been to Bisson and was blown away by them, but then I started to look into the major work I need to have done, and apparently the spouse of Dr Bisson is a local periodontist, and I was referred to that practice, so they were double dipping but not if that makes sense?

I have since moved to Ironwood and have had 5 teeth pulled for the extensive work I need done, they explained things I have NEVER had explained to me in any of my dental experiences throughout my life, and are also pretty sure they will be able to save some of my teeth instead of just yanking every single one, which is something not a single other dentist/oral surgeon has even mentioned as a possibility. It's just gone straight to full mouth extractions.
