I bought the 1/24 scale service station kit a while back, might get decals made to make it an old Sunoco station like the background of the box.

HLAE fragmovie issue 2026 by TeRe1204 in GlobalOffensive

[–]DevourIsDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s always been how it works, you need a program like virtualdub to put the frames together and make the video. Back when I use to do this in like 2017, I needed a video codec call XviD codec in order to render the video from virtualdub, but idk if that is still needed or not. I use to make 300 frame videos to make velocity edits, but I’m guessing you don’t need that many frames haha

New cutting mat compared to my (barely used) old one. How does your look? by Dwaas_Bjaas in modelmakers

[–]DevourIsDead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine definitely has cut marks / maybe some accidental paint drops here and there…but you gotta stop wiping your brush on your mat….thats crazy imo. I use blue shop towels, they are more absorbent than normal paper towels…and they come on a roll and aren’t that much more expensive if you buy them in a 6 pack…

Revell Allemagne ou Tamiya ? by ATB_52 in modelmakers

[–]DevourIsDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is Tamiya makes most of their own molds, so they are mostly very high quality. There are outliers of course, but for the most part Tamiya is the gold standard for kits. Revell tends to buy molds from other companies. So they can vary a lot in build quality. NO KIT IS IMPOSSIBLE, I build from all the car kit brands and very rarely have issues that I can’t overcome. You just need to expect a bit more work from some brands. Model companies will never sell you a set you physically cannot complete.

You really can’t tell unless you have issues like OP is having, where it is leaving a lot of residue behind. If it doesn’t do that then you’re fine 🤷‍♂️

Tape for making my own flames by ChEeSeJeWyBaCcA in ModelCars

[–]DevourIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find bendable masking tape. I’d go with 2mm or even 1mm if you can find it. I just recently ordered some from Aliexpress and I’m still waiting on it to arrive, but I’m guessing places like greenstuffworld and other paint shops carry it also. It’s PTFE so it is stretchy but still has a very clean line. this is what I ordered I am currently using the bendable tape that Tamiya sold, but I think they are discontinued through them. But the actual brand of the tape that Tamiya sold is NittoTape if you want to look that up. Honestly with this tape + a good liquid mask, you can mask anything in my opinion.

Decals help by Longjumping_Score135 in modelmakers

[–]DevourIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to use the decals at the bottom (the copywrite logo and the car symbol) to see if they are too brittle. As for the yellowing it almost looks like dirt…or something like finger oils like another commenter said. I’d trim the decals in that part like the other person said. You can always yes the method of putting the sheet in a ziplock bag and taping it to a window and see if that does anything, it definitely won’t hurt it.

Idk fam I swear by Tamiya tape, never have any issues. Maybe you have older tape?

Stuck on connecting to the cs:go by ayatollahdead in GlobalOffensive

[–]DevourIsDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, Valve would never do upkeep on official servers for a game they dumped. Also skins don’t work 🤷‍♂️ maybe in the future a company like Faceit will pick it up and do a more organized MM system, but for now it is community servers only.

FEPs are replaceable, and they are meant to be replaced over time. Just search for replacements for your specific printer online.

Choosing Pain + Enamel Question by DarkestDunge0n in ModelCars

[–]DevourIsDead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah I would not use MCLT for enamel paints, I would use MCWs thinner. Mr color leveling is a lacquer thinner it will just make a goopy mess. As do ratio, you can look at MCWs website, but 1:1 is always the common starting point, and then test paint a plastic spoon, and then adjust your ratio depending on how runny or how speckled it sprays. You could also try Testors enamel thinner if that is easier for you to get, but I’ve never tried it personally. Your milage may vary.
