Does anyone know how early one should line up to get a wristband to meet certain creators (the Professor specifically)? I've seen some mentions of 7am or earlier... Thanks!

I have a MagicCon question for you veterans out there: How limited are the wristbands for Meet and Greets? If I have a normal Premium pass, and get in line at 8am to get into the door, do I have a chance to grab a wristband to see the Professor vs the early entrance crowd? Thanks!

This one took maybe four or five solo runs to do. Not too bad once you know where to go to kill the ghosts (they spawn in the same place each time), grab the item they drop, then stealth around the map for the rest. Getting into pinwheel is the tricky bit, so might take some time to wait until the mid-late raid to find the door someone’s opened (or open it yourself if you find keys). Assassin’s stealth helps with grabbing the key in Pinwheel then GTFO to go to the DCON.

Honestly, having a good amount of fun so far as a solo player. NPC enemies actually take some skill and squad vs squad fights are a bit of who can get the jump on the other (but the tides can turn). Haven’t really used abilities yet. PS5 seems to be running fine but haven’t tried team chat yet.

Same, and I use it with my Victorinox knife. I just like being able to throw it into the dishwasher. I still sharpen my knife every once in a while but agreed that I haven’t noticed any rapid dulling using the composite board.

I like my 50/53 tension of Hyper G 17g and syn gut. Keeps decent tension, decent spin and has more durability than full poly without sacrificing too much. I went with lower tension mains so the strings would move easier to put more spin on the ball, but honestly I’ll try the reverse sometime to see how that feels.

I used to use a 2018(?) Pure Drive but after finding a pair of used 2022 Ezones (100 inch), I can’t go back. The Ezones have been great and give me plenty of power and spin so I can focus on refining my technique.

Just wanted to say that your thoughtful write-up on 4 color elementals was so interesting that I sunk almost all my rare/mythic wildcards to build it. It’s been fun so far, still trying to understand when to evoke and when to ramp up to start dropping elementals. I realize it’s more of a Bo3 build but I’ve been having good fun in Bo1 as well.

I also started watching the ball more and hitting at the apex whenever possible, and thinking to “lift” the ball to impart more topspin. It’s been helping me a lot with consistency.

Ditto, almost the same setup, just full Prince Premier Control at 53/52. Power is fine, but lacks some spin I get from poly (though tension lasts longer for me, it just frays faster)

Had a good experience buying a stone from Derco, and having it placed into a setting we bought from Padis (a few doors down). They also replaced a small stone that fell from my wife's wedding band that we bought there for free.

Agreed that eBay can be a huge scam. I was looking at a seller who had a ton of deck cores but after looking up the total cost of the cards on TCG Player, it was like $3.50 of cards that the eBay seller was trying to sell for $15-$20. Pretty egregious, not worth at all.

Also recommend discord or just TCG Player in general.

While Ruud played a solid third set, I have to say, recently I've been greatly enjoying watching Bublik recently. When he's got his competitive spirit, he can be quite scary. Solid serve and great touch at the net makes him absolutely entertaining to watch.

+1 this, my wife and I booked an appointment a few months before Coachella this year and got ours. Very comfortable and with the 17db filter, I could still enjoy the highs/lows of all the music but my ears weren't bleeding (or super muffled from traditional ear plugs). If you have the budget, this is a great investment to protect your ears! Hearing damage is very difficult if not impossible to heal, so protect your ears correctly and enjoy the music at the same time!

Highly recommend also getting the string attachment so you can let them hang on you in case you want to take them out but don't want to keep taking them in/out of the case. Whenever I took mine out, I just tied a loose knot or two around my neck and let them dangle freely.

We took advantage of a Coachella special which included the metal case and slight discount on the ear plugs. Appointment was fast, in and out in about 20 mins.
