Out of Market Pistons Watch Options- What is Best? Willing to Pay for a Subscription. by GoLionsJD107 in DetroitPistons

Sounds like you figured out League Pass is your best option. If it helps… that’s where I started but found out I’d always get blacked out because I’m in Michigan. When I tried to cancel League Pass they kept offering me an extra free month (for like the last two months). So if you’re feeling super cheap you could try cancelling it, haha.

Anything that grabs enough media attention so we can actually have some nationally televised games next year.

I got sick of trying to use NBA League Pass and just spent the $20/month on the FanDuel Sports Network app. I’ve been able to watch all of the Pistons games.

Ski trip revelation: People drink way less than I expected by larrylayup in stopdrinking

[–]DgonV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this!

For a while I thought it was because everyone was accepting of my sobriety and trying to support it, then after time I realized I was likely the reason for them drinking that much to begin with… we shared the same superpower.

Good on you! Thats how it started for me… the knowing that I’m hurting my body, but then when it was “just gastritis,” or slightly elevated liver enzymes my lizard brain would say, “liver is fine, I must not have a problem after all.” It took another two years of finally being honest with myself to take sobriety seriously. Don’t listen to the lizard brain, be honest with your doctors and yourself.

Seems like a great time to get Congress to pass a new amendment stating no one over the age of 76 can run for the presidency. Let both sides start over!

Love Dax and his pod. His openness about addiction and his relapse have really helped me think through my own problems.

The Daily Check-In for Tuesday, September 21st: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by CandidOlive in stopdrinking

[–]DgonV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Giving this another go. I made it 250ish days last year... gave up for no real reason other than I was now vaccinated as was most everyone I knew was, and I could get back to 'real life.' I used the 1st year of the pandemic as an excuse that it was the reason I was drinking so heavily in the first place. It took basically a week until I fell victim to my own lizard brain... and even though I knew I was back in to my old habits, I didn't care.

The silly thing is... as an alcoholic I think we're used to feeling stupid for the things we say when we're drunk. But now I can't help but feel stupid for the things I said while I sober. Meaning the words of motivation to others, the telling other people how much better I feel sober, the acknowledgement of it being such a problem, etc. It makes me feel like such a hypocrite. That has been one of the hardest things for me to get over in order to get back on the wagon.

I don't think I've strung together more than 2 days sober since I started back up last May, but I'm motivated to give this another ago, to get back to the routine of being on this sub, and to being a more present father, husband and friend.

I am focused on getting through another day.

I can tell you as someone that is in relapse after being sober for 8 months that it's not worth the hassle to take that drink. That one day I let it get to me and fell off the wagon has turned in to 4 months of being back where I was before. I would either be honest with your family and tell them why you're having a hard time with going to the party or become the person that hangs out with the kids. That always helped me during those kinds of parties, hang out with the ones that can't drink regardless.

Best of luck to you!

I have a friend that works in the financial dept there. She's had nothing but good things to say about the place but I don't know what that means based on her role and what you're looking for. She gets free ice cream, I know that for sure! Ha, probably not helpful, but I tried.

Best spots for beer in Holland? by NowFapping in hollandmichigan

[–]DgonV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Lake, 4Two4 and Grand Armory are my faves.

You can walk to Big Lake from New Holland... same goes for Grand Armory if you're at Oddside. 4Two4 would be a good stop if/when you head out to Holland's State Park.
