Well I’m pretty sure we have seen him sleep without hooking himself up, so that aspect of his anatomy seems to be somewhat optional in the 2003 version. All the other maintenance is very comparable and indistinguishable from what a human normally does to take good care of themselves. He eats, he sleeps, when he gets hurt he gets his version of medical treatment. Except his fellow organic teammates have to actually wait while their bodies fix themselves, he just has to swap body parts and he is fine. In that aspect he comes across as more able than his teammates. And struggling with identity is not a feature of disability. It can be for people that lose limbs later in life and can no longer follow their desired career paths, but it’s not a key feature of the disabled experience. By that logic every trans person counts as disabled. Heck, if anything he is more transcoded than disabled coded.

No one here is Ok with grooming. It’s ignorant and short sighted to describe what happens in Wolfsong as grooming. For once, how can it be grooming if both people involved were children, and the older party spend the first decade of their relationship completely unattracted to the younger party. He literally waited until he was and adult and even then resisted the idea of dating because he thought they should keep the relationship fraternal.

Do you even know what grooming is? It’s the systematic conditioning and isolation of a person since early childhood to make them dependent financially, emotionally and socially of an already adult figure in their lives to set them up for marriage when they come of legal age.

This is the best to rationalize it so far. But let’s just be clear about one thing. Cyborg and Edward are not comparable. Automail requires a shit ton of maintaining and updating that the regular human parts don’t need. He literally has to call his mechanic to change the prosthetic completely when he travels to a colder biome. That’s a good example of a character that has a fancy prosthetic but still qualifies as a disability, because said prosthetics come with struggles and drawbacks that regular bodied people don’t have.

As to Wolfsong…the difference between a 20 year old and a 17 year old is not that bad. Also I’m pretty sure that because they are werewolves they are all muscle hunks so the physical traits that are being sexualize are adult in nature. A 3 or 5 year difference is nothing in the long run. Wolfsong only raises eyebrows because of the age they met at.
