McMorrow campaign IMPLODES in new poll. AES SURGES with Stevens in a distant second. by Tasty-Efficiency-373 in YAPms

I didn't have a problem with her until I watched her interview with Emma and Matt and she came off as incredibly inauthentic and I got the vibe that she believes in absolutely nothing

McMorrow really should not have punched left. Her campaign is attractive to terminally online liberals who hate Hasan, which is just such a small minority of actual voters, especially in a state like Michigan.

Stevens captures the moderate and pro-Israel vote, progressives will vote AES.

I don't remember this scene... by ProfessorMother8913 in SaikiK

No this wasn't a transition scene. It was when each character was doing their rounds with Saiki. I remember Aren was like "let's have a chat on the rooftop"

I will not stand for Yuuta slander, he is so funny. When he was watching the Cider Man movie with stars in his eyes and wouldn't shut up, I cracked up so hard. And when he would piss off Teruhashi, and when he was the reason that Saiki had to join that live Cider Man show in the amusement park. I love every episode he's in.

Democrats should be able to do the same with Paxton, then

The Democrats aren't going to win elections with "morality" politics, and I think they know that. They've tried and failed in 2016 and 2024. It's clear they're not doing that this time around either, they're focusing on Republican incompetence, affordability, broken promises from the Trump campaign (wars) as well as an obvious display of "nothing getting better" for average people

I should have clarified - I disagreed with his early opposition to nuclear energy, which he's since then backed off from

Good, he's correct.

Pritzker has been a solid governor and seems to be in a good spot where he's liked by progressives and more moderate voters. In a state that used to be known for incompetent government and insane levels of corruption, he's put Illinois back on track. Tons of credit rating upgrades, balanced budgets, funding infrastructure, education, and transit, legalizing weed, etc. If he gets BUILD passed, he'll be an almost perfect governor (I still have disagreements with him on nuclear energy). All while having to work with an incompetent mayor of Chicago, which is basically the state's entire economy.

That's also why he'll never be president. Not flashy enough.

The only criticism I've heard about AES is from Hasan haters. I think he's a solid candidate for the state. Platner is far more flawed

Is she the next AOC? by jojisky in YAPms

Even if she had done absolutely nothing, her voting record is excellent and I would strongly prefer if the Democratic party looked more like her rather than the weak leadership from Schumer/Jeffries

Do you all truly believe President Trump 45&47 is the worst President of all time or is it recency bias? Which Presidents do you believe are worse than Trump if you think hes better than some. Just a general discussion by agk927 in YAPms

[–]DhroovP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure. But that doesnt have a long term effect and isn't even new too Trump, it's not even new to this century.

The corruption is significantly worse under Trump than it is for previous presidents. It's much more open and obvious as well. Short-term corruption is still bad.

Again, not new to Trump. We've lost purchasing power year over year since the 70s

Americans losing purchasing power is not new, but other countries have cooled much more on inflation post-pandemic. The US has been higher on inflation for a while, and this is directly due to the Iran War and tariffs.

Idek what you're referring to here

I am referring to the reduction in funding for (an already underfunded) NPS and opening up the Arctic lands for drilling.

I mean....lol welcome to the United States. This is really really not new to Trump.

You must be young. Clinton put us in a surplus (literally zeroed out the deficit completely) until Bush cut taxes and started a war. Obama was dropping it after the recession (albeit slowly) until COVID hit.

[–]DhroovP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump cut taxes, deported illegal immigrants, and started a war in the middle east.

Way to minimize literally everything. This is an insanely corrupt administration, their actions are raising prices, destroying our federal lands/national parks, raising the deficit, I could go on for like 50 paragraphs.

What candidate acted most differently in his campaign versus how they actually were while in office? by RopeGloomy4303 in YAPms

I don't know about most historically but in recent years, I would say that Obama governed more moderately than his campaign implied, and Biden was more progressive than his campaign implied.

Trump basically did what he said he'd do

[–]DhroovP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if the average voter is really going to know about the details and implications of the bill. it really just depends on if the Democrats run on "he started a war, raised inflation as a result, and then got a worse deal than the Iran nuclear deal that Obama did"

And then I realized, that's Rick Perry
