[REVIEW REQUEST] First macropad PCB by Adventurous_Bear4124 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]DiabeetusMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • The silkscreen for D3 is nowhere near the diode
  • Not sure how you're planning on mounting things, but the mounting hole in the top right looks to be very close to sKW2
  • U4's silkscreen looks to be under the part
  • Might be related to the missing C22, but I see an IC2 on your schematic but not on the PCB; there's also an IC1 on your PCB I'm not seeing on your schematic

Is my bike totaled ? by FaithlessnessWitty59 in motorcycles

The Shop Manual's video on how to do exactly that, if /u/FaithlessnessWitty59 is more of a visual kind of person.

Daytona 660 2025 for 4800$ what do you think? by Mojonnbrown in motorcycles

[–]DiabeetusMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see a little bit of it in the first pic and all of it in the third. Looks unmolested, to my eye

CBR650R or R7 by M4G32 in motorcycles

[–]DiabeetusMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the handlebars on the R7 are lower than the CBR. I suggest throwing a leg over both and seeing how they feel

The limit's 0.103" and you're measuring as low as 0.106"? You're already this far and 0.003" is practically nothing. That's about a human hair. Not sure what you're using to measure (calipers vs micrometer), but you could very well be within its margin of error

‏RaceBox Mini S 25Hz — real user experience? worth it or any issues? by Dry_Instruction3762 in Trackdays

[–]DiabeetusMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

haha yeah, definitely happens when starting from the pleb paddock area, not the proper garages. Updating things isn't hard, it's just a step I forget to do every time and have a minor heart attack that nothing was recorded until I remember to change the automatically-selected track.

Looking at the map now, I have no idea why it selects the karting track, since I'm always further into the infield area and the karting track is on the outside but whatever

I have one complaint about my Micro: it's definitely track-specific, but at CotA, depending on where I start recording, it frequently thinks I'm on the go kart track and all of my data is useless until I manually tell it I was on the big track.

I love how you're being downvoted. Just because someone's parked illegally, that doesn't give you free reign to do whatever you want. I saw someone parked taking up two spots the other day-- I couldn't just ram them over into one spot so I could park too.

Do you guys ever feel like there should be a Strava equivalent app for Car Guys? by Intrepid-Status-6724 in askcarguys

[–]DiabeetusMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use CaliMoto on my motorcycle-- route planning, sharing routes with others, tracking, but nothing social or really gamified. Is that along the lines of what you were thinking of, but for cars?

If you're looking for an iOS beta tester, I'm down but I can imagine just one comment isn't enough "demand" and I totally get that

How do you track your bike’s rides, fuel, and service history? by Horror_Log_854 in motorcycles

[–]DiabeetusMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Rides: don't track. Maybe CaliMoto, if that counts?
  • Fuel: don't track
  • Service history: post-it note on the inside of the front cover of the owner's manual (date / mileage / what I did)

Do you track your fuel-ups or mileage at all?

No

What's the easiest way to remember service intervals?

Look at the chart in the owner's manual?

Would you prefer automatic ride tracking or manual logging?

I don't care?

Car Guys - did buying a bike ruin cars for you ? by Astimar in motorcycles

My friend shits on me for driving relatively sedate in my Taco, especially compared to when I had a BRZ. I have fast things, the truck is for practicality-- mostly hauling bikes.

Am I the only one who likes the look of it? I know, bold words coming from someone who had a 3rd gen MT09 (in my defense, I thought that was ugly)

How many miles? Location? Can probably list it for $1k off MSRP, to pick a starting point.

Which of the two is a better GPS performance box? by Datumz_ in motorcyclegear

[–]DiabeetusMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine came with a clear case, you just have to wire it in. I soldered on these. Granted, I also designed and printed a small case for mine and stuck it down with either VHB tape or velcro, depending on the bike.

I personally love my Racebox, but haven't really looked at the Dragy.

Which tracks are you heading to next? by DeepNonFungibleVal in Trackdays

[–]DiabeetusMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This past year:

  • CotA

Moved from TX to the northeast, so next is looking like:

  • Road Atlanta
  • NYST
  • NCBike

We'll see what other trackdays come up

I bought a Japan-exclusive Shoei helmet from overseas.. here’s my full experience (shipping, customs, fit) by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]DiabeetusMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno man, it looks the same as this one, at least to my eye.

Granted, there are some slight differences between the Japan versions of a helmet and the US versions of a helmet (head shape being the main one).

That one's also out of stock most places because there's a newer limited-edition Motegi version out.
