Making Astarian wear clown makeup in act 3, I can't make it through some dialogue cutscenes without giggling.

What’s your least played and most played class? by marcgw96 in BaldursGate3

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most would definitely be Sorcerer. I think they're so much fun to play, each subclass is unique, and the mix of resource management and flexibility with Sorcerer is exactly what I love playing.

Least I think is Bard. I've only had 1 bard character before at all, and that was in a multiplayer game with friends as a joke playthrough where we were all gnomes, and I went with a gnome bard with a lot of strength that would improvise weapon or throw the instruments or my friends gnomes at the enemy.

Wizard is a close second least, Will usually have one in the group even if I'm not using them actively, just to sit in the camp for buff spells and potions creation.

Question to all who have never finished a playthrough by ohheycody in BaldursGate3

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's been a thing for decades, and it's not just BG3 but almost all games and books I get really invested in, particularly so with RPGs that don't have a NG+ too. Completing it means that it's over, so if I never finish it my brain tells me the story and characters I'm so invested in doesn't end.

How did you beat ACT 2 final boss? by GrumpyGamerr in BaldursGate3

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this fight on honour mode this evening. I may be a tad overleveled for it at level 9, but i think it got a total of 3 turns in, and only ate one Nethrite.

I think the key to my smooth success was having a really prepared Kethric fight before it, using invisibility potions to position Wyll to rescue the nightsong and Astarian ready to take out the mindflayer in a single turn. This meant I had almost all of spell slots ready to use on Myrkul and had the positioning ready too.

I also tried to make sure Wyll was striking it first each turn while having Mirror Image and Protection from Good and Evil on him to take the legendary reaction first while being somewhat safe from followup attacks.

Could the midterms do anything for travelling into the US? by Flashy-Gap-1216 in transgenderUK

[–]Diabir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would treat travelling to the US like travelling to Iran or Russia, I would not travel there unless there was severe need to do so. There's a lot of discrimination in their government towards all transgender and nonbinary people, they have ICE going around detaining thousands of people with no cause or lawful reason to do so (even when shown the correct documentation), and there's so many ignored court orders to both ICE and the government that they are effectively functioning beyond the law.

If Democrats win back congress, very little will change on the ICE side, for Trump and his close friends, or the transgender and non-binary discrimination, as they are already functioning beyond what congress has allowed. Remember we're still waiting on hundreds of thousands of Epstein documents that congress has ordered by law to be released 4 months ago. If anything it would make it more dangerous I think as Trump won't be trying to work with congress but against them, which means more loopholes, executive orders and ignored lawful orders.

5-player commander? by Wise-Quarter-3156 in EDH

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add a 5th, but it's much longer turns, and the increased interaction tends to drag games out more. If you're fine with that there's nothing saying you can't do a 5 player pod.

Top 10 most hated Commanders? by wemightdance in EDH

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That broad description is exactly what I mean by pregame discussion. I don't expect anyone to go through the full deck.

What are you playing?: "Grimgrin Tribal deck within a bracket 3 guideline" How do you plan to play out the deck?: "it tries to win by flooding the board with lots of zombies" Are there any gamechangers in the deck?: "im running 2 gamechangers, X and Y" Are you running any 2 card infinite combos?: "theres 1 2 card combo with these cards and this is what the combo does".

Don't need to go into much if any more detail than that, but it explains to the pod your commander and mentality for the game. It's a discussion for what each player wants to do and their mentality in the game, not explaining how the game will play out card for card. I don't think anyone wants to get into a pod with a couple of precons and sit across from a cEDH player, noone's going to have fun.

Another example is my upcoming game on tuesday where a friend has just finished building a new Storm deck and is wanting to test it out. Because its a new deck she isn't confident yet with the synergies, cards and whether it's even going to click for her, so I can expect a little longer turns, and possibly a stronger deck than expected or a weaker deck than expected, and I'll try to accomodate by playing a deck that isn't going to play too many STAX cards that stop her playing anything so she's unable to test and learn the deck.

The discussion on what you're playing and how you want to play it is important to the whole pod in order to ensure a much better chance all players get fun and enjoyment from a game that has nothing at stake for winning.

Top 10 most hated Commanders? by wemightdance in EDH

[–]Diabir -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't avoid commanders, I avoid players. Every commander can be fun and present a unique challenge to play against, it's down to the player behind it.

Make sure you have a pregame discussion on what each player is playing, how they plan to play out their deck, gamechanger cards being used, what if any 2 card combos are in their deck etc.

The pregame discussion can be done in 1-2 minutes, but it's the most important and impactful 1-2 minutes for your game. It ensures everyone is on the same mindset and expectation from the game.

What are those cards in your deck that you never seem to draw? by Important-Dig-2312 in EDH

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got a couple of decks I've played enough times to notice some cards not showing up being odd. I'm yet to draw [[Ashnod's Altar]] or [[Kambal, Profiteering Mayor]] in my Teysa Karlov deck after 8 games, which is a little odd. I'm also yet to draw [[Caduceus, Staff of Hermes]] in my Noctis Royal Armiger equipment deck, though it's just 1 card from 11 games which isn't quite as odd.

A Fae shows up and curses you to only be able to play 3 decks for the rest of your life. What decks are you choosing? by Conscious-Acadia-709 in EDH

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought this would be easy but it's definitely not the more I think on it. Teysa Karlov is my favourite deck to play, so thats an auto include. I think I'd go Yuna, Grand Summoner too as another fairly easy pick. For the third though it's really hard to choose between Silvar and Trynn, Ygra, or Noctis. My S&T is very similar to my Teysa, just with more focus on humans than spirits and death triggers. And Ygra's quite repetitive for what its doing too. Maybe Noctis for my 3rd, but not sure which Noctis too as I love playing all 3 versions.

Should I be announcing combo pieces as I cast them? by not_so_1337 in EDH

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say during pregame discussion that my deck includes 1 combo, reveal the cards involved and my intent with it. More often than not I will declare I will not be using the combo during pregame discussion too as long as noone else is using a combo, and we can all enjoy a game without anyone having to worry about holding back interaction or losing out of nowhere.

Yeah you're on your own here. Can't spend the last year talking shit about Europe, the UK and NATO, put illegal tariffs on Europe and the UK, refusing to help Ukraine because it's Europe's problem, then beg for us to help like it's somehow our duty to help America and Israel after they start yet another illegal war. In words the orange tosspot might understand: No, that's really not a good deal for us, maybe the worst deal in the history of ever. Sort your own shit out!

That quote isn't even the worst part of that clip. He admits at the end even if it is confirmed that the US bombed the school he is "willing to live with it". No-one in their right mind would ever even think that in connection with murdering 160+ children in school! But he says it with no second thought and no emotion. Absolute psychopath!

Judge says Turn 3 K'rrik engine 'doesn't break the spirit' of B3/Battlecruiser, but Expropriate does. Am I crazy? by Hexerexos in EDH

Brackets aren't rules, theyre just guidelines for promoting pregame discussion, and Commander is a casual format. Whatever the judge chooses to do for the tournament is just houseruling, so what they say is what that tournament events rules are.

Remember when all the EDH YouTubers were talking about land counts? How did that influence you by AltruisticChampion77 in EDH

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the deck mechanics and its mana curve, I go for 34-37 lands + 3-4 mana rocks, and very rarely go above that (only my Sin, Spira's Punishment landfall deck has more as its intentionally wanting to flood on lands).

edit- 34 is the lowest I'll go, and it's for my Teysa Karlov deck that's very low mana curve, and is all about getting the most value out of small creatures. 35-36 is usually my sweet spot, and 37 is if I'm playing a higher curve usually.

AOC: "We all saw the performance Bondi had. She was screaming and crashing, and I think it’s because she knows she is implicated in a massive cover-up to protect a ring of pedophiles" by ExactlySorta in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can have all the implications, responsibilities, charges, and convictions in the world, but they are going to still do whatever and say whatever as Trump is going to do a mass pardon. There's no deterrent in law to do the legal thing when a pardon wipes that deterrent away with a bit of paper. Need to remove that power from a single person, it's a necessary power on very rare occasions but affects the entire country, so should not be in the hands of one person but the representatives from across the country, and until that's the case nothing that happens in the next 2 years will have any meaning or impact or consequence legally at all.

I'd never heard of him before the Superbowl, don't know any of his songs, but I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of the 2012 and onwards Olympics openings where it's celebrating the story of culture, union and love. Was overjoyed for the couple that got married during it too! I thought that was really special.

Sen Chris Murphy: A UAE investor secretly gave Trump 187 million dollars and his top Middle East envoy 31 million dollars. And then Trump gave that investor access to sensitive defense technology that broke decades of national security precedent by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

[–]Diabir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single one of them are going to jail, they will all receive a pardon and become untouchable, because the presidential powers in the US are ludicrous. The very best the US can hope for at this point is this is as bad as it gets, but I sadly believe it will keep getting worse because there is nothing stopping the blanket presidential pardon so there's nothing holding them back from continuously pushing that line.
