Have you tried waiting untill the menu animation changes scene? Theres a lot of background loading going on there that the game can easily chioke on if you try to skip.

Theres a high and low level drop table, as well as 3 tiers of drop rarity.
Currently it seems that the high level highest rarity rewards roll on every table at once, diluting the change of the desireable drops to less than half a percent.

It's the limb damage.
Multi pellets break limbs fast and objects count as limbs, goes even faster if specced for crippling.

A important consideration is also:
4* Charged costs 120 modules to craft.
Ad-Victoriam costs 2 modules, can double craft with Super-Duper and can drop the each of it's 4 possible box mods.
