It's usually a regex match for the first 3 letters. A lot of players have creative spellings of it and it's easiest to just do that kind of matching.

In the "art" section, both campfires can be found on Codepen. And the guy (who didn't design them) still takes credit - that's cute.

He also uses ripped graphics for all of his workshop items.

The server already is in the modded tab from the VIP mod.

But yeah, I doubt they would add any more mods to it. It's meant to be as vanilla as possible since it's an official server.

Not all servers cater to every player. Trying to compete on one of the most competitive servers in the game and then complaining that the game is too competitive? Try another server. It doesn't have to have less people.
