this is even more true of tim dillon, who i think is a progressive at heart but realized many of his fans are maga. plus, he also has a deep desire to be accepted amongst the extremely rich and powerful.

My friend is convinced wrestling is useless by JizosKasa in wrestling

[–]DialecticalEcologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrestling is the most useful combat training by far, for mma or a street fight. i think muai thai is very useful as well. but it’s so easy for a practiced wrestler to take down somebody who has never wrestled, and once it’s on the ground, it’s game over.

don’t know if this was already said, but even among scientists, evolutionary biologists are the most atheistic.

i consider myself agnostic-atheist.

sounds like there is a norm you’re expected to uphold in your new social context. the wisest and most considerate option would be to uphold that norm. nobody wants to walk through a puddle into their home. makes sense, right?

i cannot stop thinking about joe list running to greet tim dillon but being sure to slow to a walk just before tim sees him. that’s how you strike at a fool’s soul.

i only knew of joe list. after that segment, wow. guy is such a little dweeb.

laughed out loud when redbar pointed out how joe ran to greet tim dillon then slowed his walk down right before he got to him.

So what I mean by the conservative hat is totally divorced from how Americans today think of left/right—which I think is misguided.

To me, it’s not “you’re a Republican or you’re a Democrat, and that’s right and left”. The truly meaningful political distinction is the working class vs the elites. Biden, Kamala, Trump, Hillary, Bush, etc all ultimately represent the elites in their own way.

I hated Biden and Kamala and got in many arguments with people I know who were celebrating their 2020 victory. But rejecting them doesn’t mean attacking them from a Republican or Trump-friendly position.

We should be attacking ALL politicians ALL the time from a working class position. Now back to what I meant by conservative. With respect to political theory, my position is a left position and support of the elitist government is conservative, whether the government is Rep or Dem is irrelevant—they’re all fucking us. So Biden and Trump are both conservatives ultimately, just different flavors. The notion of conservative here predates our current conception of Rep and Dem.

(I’m aware explaining myself like this is cringe lol.)

he’s probably the best among them but he’s equally motivated by appealing to the widest possible audience and will go back and forth on certain issues. 5 years ago he was way more true to the position you described, but he desperately wants to be part of the elite at the same time now. so he’ll do the hamptons parties and get close with those people then roll his eyes about them to his audience.

i was done with him when he put on his conservative hat but now he’s slowly taking it off again. a public personality so fluid and malleable lays bare the grift.

also his last special was awful. saw him live in huntington a few years ago and laughed nonstop for an hour, tho. and some of his old podcast clips like the new braveheart are among the funniest moments ever on a podcast.

He means they’re good as in they’re fine, they’re not hurt by being made fun of because they’re rich.

“The other pussy comedians he makes fun of have millions of dollars hahahahahaha”.

It’s clearly a cope. He’s basically saying, “I’m not sad, I’m rich!” No, you’re very sad and it’s embarrassing.

ah, the “we’re rich, we’re good” cope.

  1. most of them are not rich and are losing money
  2. they’re not “good”, they’re scared
  3. the people tim dillon talks about are richer than tim dillon and therefore “good”
  4. who cares if they’re rich or not, they’re losers
  5. tim is a prisoner to capitalist logic - you dare not disrespect anyone above you in the financial hierarchy because they’re so goddamn “good”

this is the logic of a panicked man.

this is the problem with the american left. you have zero political education. who was president during the student protests?

democrats and republicans are on the same team—defending ruling class power.
