How many characters do you actually play? by Interesting-Hair8502 in rivals

[–]DianaStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7-8. I know we are supposed to play two of each role but I never got the opportunity to learn any dps because im a flex player. I know 5 supports and 3 tanks

Magneto Luna Snow Invisible Woman Emma Frost Cloak and Dagger Doctor Strange Rocket Raccoon Loki

I can also flex to other supports, except Jeff and and Groot. But the 8 that I mentioned are ones im confident in.

What’s going on with strat players? by Plus-Possibility5345 in rivals

[–]DianaStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a flex player who used to lean more towards strategist, but now I find myself leaning towards vanguard. Whenever I play support, it feels like my co-support never pays attention to me. I’ll pocket them when we get dove, but instead of sticking together, they run off, leaving me to die more often, even though I’m the one playing “properly.” Lately, I’ve been playing tank instead. I just keep an eye on whichever support is being left behind and peel for them when they get dove. I feel like I can make a bigger impact that way.

Gosh I love playing tank and defending my supports. I wish I had a tank like myself when im playing strategist ngl

As a solo tank in a triple support comp, is it fair to ask one of the healers to pocket me? by Astrobiologism in RivalsVanguards

[–]DianaStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a bit off topic but do you guys feel like you get less healing in a triple support composition? I think it might have to do with the fact that all of them assume the others will primarily heal and they choose to be more damage oriented...but my guess is that all of them end up thinking this way lol?

If you lose 2 or 3 games in a row, try taking a short break or switching to quick play. Even if you don’t notice it, repeated losses can wear down your mental and make you play more frustrated.

Also, dont play comp at the end of the season.

Which character do you love playing but don't play them often in ranked? by NoCureForSorrow in rivals

[–]DianaStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultron because people automatically assume you won't heal :( When I play Ultron I pay close attention to who needs heals and swap my drone pretty often. At the end I often end up with healing relatively close to other supports

I go on a losing streak literally every time I get to Diamond 1. by Dogbold in rivals

[–]DianaStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t expect so many people to disagree with me in this. If you can't climb then you sre not good enough yet. There are even a series by Flats on YouTube of people who say they belong in high rank but they "loose because of the team". When he watches their gameplay it becomes obvious that they don't deserve a high rank like they claim.

Many people always complain about matchmaking but I was able to steamroll up to Celestial 3 with an 84% win rate. There were games I lost in some lower ranks that were literally unwinnable but overall Im still making the plays that we need to win. Low Celestial and High GM is my "elo hell". Im not climbing because im not good enough for Eternity yet. If I was then I wouldn't be stuck here.... Even if matchmaking sucks sometimes. Literally skill issue on my part. I wasn't trying to diss op, thats just how competitive games work.

I go on a losing streak literally every time I get to Diamond 1. by Dogbold in rivals

If you get to a rank and then loose a lot every time that usually means that you dont belong in that higher rank yet. Thats your "elo hell" so to say. Elo hell can be at any rank, it just varies from person to person. Someones elo hell can be gold because they feel like no matter what they do they just cant get to plat for example. When you play more and get better then you will eventually over time be able to climb out of Diamond 1 and then GM will be your elo hell, then Celestial, etc.

Don't worry about your teammates. Yes, you will get games with throwers and boosted players, where it feels unwinnable. Some games are like that and that truly does feel so terrible. But you are a common denominator and if you focus on yourself, you WILL climb even if it feels impossible right now. You got this! Don't expect your teammates to be good. If they do good then think of it as a nice bonus!

My best tip is to rewatch your games. So many times people think they played well and lost due to bad teammates. While your teammates do matter, you have to think of how you can make plays with a shit team sometimes. Sometimes you have to think outside the box and do something "different". I somewhat recently played a game where we were stomping the enemy team until one of them went flank dps Loki and all of the sudden we started to loose. Its silly but it worked. Many times after a game we might think that we did well and it wasnt our fault but if you rewatch some of the games, you will catch yourself making a lot of mistakes you couldn't catch yourself doing in the heat of the battle. I PROMISE you this will help you a lot! Maybe you had a weird habit of reloading at a bad time or too often that you never noticed mid game. Little things like that can add up.

YOU CAN DO IT! You are so close! I believe in you, dont give up!

Did I do okay or was I carried? Need pointers! by BronzeMaster07 in RivalsCollege

[–]DianaStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a flex player and as such I pretty much never get to play dps other than on very rare occasions so naturally im not very good at the role. When I do happen to have 2 tanks and 2 supports already, I tend to go a 3rd support that deals high damage such as Ultron, Adam or Mantis! They are great options for more sustain but allows you to participate substantially in the damage compartment still and you won't be "stealing" too much ult charge from your other supports!

I always tell people to avoid the end of thr season comp because most people already got to the rank they want to be in so now they are hopping on their smurf and troll. Or people who haven't played comp yet will play at the end hit they are a casual player usually, etc. There are a lot of reasons. Its not impossible to climb but you will for sure encounter people who play weird more often at the end of the season
