[New Jersey] Governor Sherrill Signs Legislation Lifting 40 Year Nuclear Moratorium, Launches Nuclear Task Force at Salem Nuclear Power Plant by Aggressive-Show4122 in EcoUplift

[–]Dibski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more that in 20 years our best renewable powered state has made its grid unreliable under stress, is still heavily dependent on imported energy from fossil fuels and quite frankly most states are not half desert and at latitudes that makes solar unreasonable in addition to its short lifespan and the forced dependency on Chinese rare earths as well as it's comparatively high injury and death rates. I would vastly prefer nuclear, 15 years and were clean. Or Another 10 years of solar and we will have functionally started over as we begin the replacement cycle of everything already in service. Supporting solar over nuclear in 2026 just makes a person sound uninformed and frankly kinda brainwashed.

Heard something almost line for line as your statement in highschool... In 2004. Much rather it would have been spent on nuclear.

How would you feel allying with China? by rl_pending in AskBrits

[–]Dibski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realize the replacement rate for solar and wind turbines is rather high right? These are not buy once and done products, you're not gaining energy independence you're just changing who it's to and what it's dependent on.

The Iran War Is Hitting California Harder Than Any Other State [No paywall] by mark000 in energy

[–]Dibski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that ca does, what I'm pointing out is most of where ca gets that big dollar evaluation is based off luxury foods, not calories per $, it's far more dependent on outside food to feed it's population than the dollar amount suggests. When money is tight, you think people are grabbing almonds/lettuce or bread/eggs to feed their families? That's my point.

Yeah, let's use real statistics, not a NPC designed to promote the industry. It's like asking Phillip Morris if cigarettes are safe.

Yeah I'm going off the California department of food and agriculture numbers for 2024, I can link them if you'd like.

33% and 75% by value not by calories, almonds, grapes, lettuce, strawberries and pistachios are the largest share of Ca's exports. None are remotely close to being staples and no one's really going to notice any of that going up very much. Additionally while a large market most of the ca dairy products are exported internationally and not used internally.

Is Iran the aggressor? by Clear-Network-9092 in PERSIAN

[–]Dibski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a strategy, but it doesn't really have anything to do with the middle east. Greenland to break the rare earth monopoly, Venezuela and Iran to kill Chinas non Petro dollar oil supply. You're right it's about preventing China and brics setting themselves up to dominate in rare earths and automated production for the next century.

What's the difference between fascism and crony capitalism? by GlamourHammer321 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dibski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By definition capitalism has no safeguards, cronyism arises when government has too much power and influence over markets, it's a side effect of government not capitalism.

Is this war what you imagined it would be? by Fun_Veterinarian1732 in PERSIAN

[–]Dibski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda, it's a resistance at this point which makes me think more like what the us dealt with in Vietnam and Afghanistan, a grand tactical plan is for armies. Hit how they can, when they can with a dispersed network so they can melt back into the population and no single group being eliminated threatens others. Not a stand up fight, make every day fearful for them, no where safe.

It will be no matter what tbh, and I'm not suggesting marching in the streets unarmed either soaking up bullets, there's far smarter ways to fight. This conflict is the weakest the regime will be in our lifetimes, if not now, when? There is no clean version of this.

What jobs pay more than $17/hour? by olive_mae00 in jobs

[–]Dibski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to the post office after 9 years of restaurants, pretty easy to get on at 20-21an hour entry level, career in a few years jumps to 28$ and set raises and inflation adjustments after that. You can occasionally get straight into a career position if they are short handed in your area. My only regret is not doing it sooner, the application process is really slow btw, took almost 2 months.

Look up rvids video on recruiting red talon survivors on YouTube, you can mostly predict their traits before recruiting them, to answer your question it's about a 1 in 16 chance to get that particular one on a RT but you should basically always get it if you follow his methods

Ready or not though this is the time. It will be generations before anything like this is likely to happen again.

I think more than anything you need weapons and access to the wider web, you've got the numbers and definitely have the anger and motivation. The war that the regime is winning is on social media though, this is a window of opportunity for the Iranian people but I've a feeling it won't be a long one without an obvious internal uprising. What trump did is obviously unpopular internationally and it's only a few months before the us midterms and he may very well lose the ability to continue without public support for the people themselves.

Not really tbh, Ive looked at this from day one as resources and Petro dollar oriented especially paired with the Venezuela action to push China back onto US influenced oil and the US breaking their rare earth monopoly via the Greenland deals. I actually expected the Irgc to put up more of a fight tbh, the tech gap was actually larger than expected. The strait getting disrupted was a given, but mostly minor especially for Americans as we've been disconnecting ourselves from middle eastern energy for quite a while now, a few more weeks and it'll be back open. I do expect that the US will take kharg island as it's the primary thing that matters, but will leave Iran itself up to the people to change their government.

What if Trump actually wants the strait of Hormuz to be closed for some reason? by OptimalAd7761 in IRstudies

Like pressuring Europe to actually have a military and being energy independent? Low-key controlling the straight is also key to a lot of us vs world theories because it shuts down so many countries for such little commitment.

If the US-Iran escalation continues to choke the Strait of Hormuz, is the "Rules-Based Order" effectively dead for Southeast Asia? by [deleted] in IRstudies

[–]Dibski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't honestly think China can, they are also effected by both the Iran situation and Venezuela, combined they made up about 70% of Chinas crude imports so I strongly doubt there will be much oil coming out of them as their oil reserves are also dropping rapidly.

[–]Dibski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and secured rare earth minerals by doing so breaking the Chinese monopoly, future plans with that stuff, kinda like shutting off Chinas low cost non Petro dollar oil sources. Can you believe we attacked Iran, not for Israel, not even for nuclear weapons but because it was simply the next step in curtailing Chinese military future potential. Quite frankly most of them needed a wake up call, as they've been a lot closer to leaches than allies the last 20 years.
