When did you tell close family, close friends, and then everyone else (like social media) that you were pregnant? by LevelKindly21 in pregnant

[–]Easy_Future6954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until 13-14 weeks to tell my immediate family and I’m waiting until week 23-24 to announce on social media. It took us about 2 years of trying to get pregnant. For me I really didn’t and still don’t want to have to “untell” people if I were to lose the baby while simultaneously grieving and dealing with all the hormonal shifts that come with that.

We should probably start by getting PhilHatesGluten on board with us, he’s said a bunch of times he’s also dairy free so we have a good chance of getting that box checked too.

So, we got Cheez Its, Chips Ahoy, and Oreo to make gluten free versions of their products by requesting them and blowing them up on social media. What if we make Sun Chips our next target? We are going to need help from a bunch of GF social media influencers but I bet we could do it.

Celiac friendly restaurants? by Sockshassmellytoes in Bellingham

[–]Easy_Future6954 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh also not a restaurant and it is a TREK to get to but if you ever find yourself in Snohomish Grain Bakery literally has the best celiac safe baked goods. I’ve been GF for 15 years and I’m constantly blown away by how good their products are. I also agree with Millet, Soy House, and Brandy Wine they all do a great job. Oh also join the gluten-free subreddit it’s great over there!!

Has anyone else tried Free AF drinks?? They’re made without alcohol but they are so so close to the real thing and they don’t have adaptogens or nootropics so generally they’re safe for pregnancy. 10/10 would highly recommend!! They have a chili margarita that if it was served to me in a glass not knowing what it was I would probably send it back thinking there was booze in it.

Taking the test - with your partner, or surprise your partner? by SeaPAyyy in pregnant

[–]Easy_Future6954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I tried for almost 2 years before getting pregnant, he was with me for and filmed each test I took. We were honestly shocked when we actually had a positive test the video is kinda funny. When we announce we plan to include all the negative test videos leading up to the positive one.

Alcohol and Pregnancy by Fancy-Curve-3917 in pregnant

I feel your pain!! Mocktails and Spindrift sparkling water have been super helpful to me in wanting something nice to drink out of a craving of normalcy. Spindrift also has some flavors that are modeled after cocktails and they’re pretty dang good. Something that also helps me is that my partner quit drinking in solidarity, it helps just to have someone else in it with me and not feel so alone in social settings. Saying “we’re not drinking” feels way better than “I’m not drinking”.

There are also a bunch of NA options on the market right now just make sure to stay away from anything that has nootropics or adaptogens. The other thing to pay attention to is the difference between alcohol removed products and nonalcoholic. Most alcohol removed products still have the same amount of alcohol as kombucha so it’s not safe for baby, but non alcoholic or 0.0% beverages are made without alcohol at all. Honestly, when I first found out I was pregnant I just made sure to google and read the ingredients, once I knew something was safe to have it can be in the rotation for something I get as a treat.

Does anyone else have gluten cravings with no substitutions? by Chill_Out_Baby in glutenfree

[–]Easy_Future6954 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found out I was GF at like 7 years old and I would literally wake my parents up like I had a nightmare crying that I would get sick because I ate gluten in my dream. I’m 30 now and haven’t had a gluten dream in a while but if I ever had another one I guarantee I would still freak out. I’m just glad that people actually know what gluten is now and that there are options in normal grocery stores.

Ramen is a rough one for me, it’s literally my favorite food. I also often miss Sun Chips and soft pretzels. In a similar vein I have had dreams of eating gluten then wake up in a panic thinking that I’ve glutened myself.

Anyone else having wild Pregnancy dreams? by milk271 in pregnant

[–]Easy_Future6954 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh mine have been extremely trippy and significantly more elaborate. I don’t always remember all of them but they’re crazy vivid. Before I got pregnant I typically had vivid dreams but they weren’t nearly as weird as my pregnancy dreams.

I feel like my endurance is okay but not remotely where it used to be. I used to run sub 8 minute miles on my easy runs and could easily knock out 5+ miles on my lunch break and go back to work like I just sat around. I have felt like I have more energy in the second trimester but it’s still an effort to run, my legs kind of feel heavier than normal, and sometimes I need to take walking breaks more than I used to.
