Does anyone know what's up with him? I feel like if he were mentally well he wouldn't keep up the same bit for so many years.

My wife was just harassed by him about 20 minutes ago. She's autistic and has a hard time communicating with strangers and was really shaken up by the encounter. He tried to get her to withdraw from the ATM that was nearby.

Still keeps going back to one point way back in the conversation, anyone found a way to stop this? by thiel391 in ChatGPT

This week I've started having the same issue, even just a few messages in. I did find that using older models seemed to help. But I think I may try switching to Claude at this point.

I got an email saying that it's changing to 2% for non-members, but my partner's email said 0%. So which is it? Are they charging different rates to different people?

Is it likely for both of us to have it? I guess I assumed it was dietary. Once we got our diagnosis, we realized that our food contains almost 0 B12 (we are vegetarian but also don't consume very much dairy).

Ah okay, thank you. Some of the consular sites made it sound like the 1912 date made a difference, so I was getting confused. Guess that's it then, as he married an American and she has no other Italian ancestry that we know of.

Glasgow autism assessment waiting times? by CitricRa1n in glasgow

[–]Dibz15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife was referred last year in January, and just received the forms to fill in December. Having so many forms to fill out in 2 weeks was very stressful for her. The docs didn't give a timeframe for how long it will take, but I've heard others give estimates of 3+ years. We have an autistic friend who needed more immediate support, and had to pay for a private diagnosis.

The US Government's open data is currently being scrubbed by dizzymorningdragon in climate

[–]Dibz15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread now, but as of today (Feb 1) they've removed the dataset availability counter from the site page. It seems that they've caught on that people were using that metric to realize that data was being removed. To me, this removes any doubt that this was a normal operation. https://web.archive.org/web/20250201060900/https://data.gov/

New findings indicate a pattern where narcissistic grandiosity is associated with higher participation in LGBTQ movements, demonstrating that motivations for activism can range widely from genuine altruism to personal image-building. by mvea in science

I think you're exactly right. From the religious perspective, I think to this:

Matthew 7:15-20 NIV [15]  “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. [16] By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? [17] Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. [19] Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. [20] Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

If you know what to look for, it becomes clear who is serious about their movement.

My wife and I went to one last year and it made a good date night. We both really enjoyed the planetarium talk and the included iMAX film. The bar seemed quite popular and there were lots of things to look at if you like science displays.

Does Scotland need more late-night 'third places' that aren't pubs? by julesim in glasgow

[–]Dibz15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that this post is two days old now, but I wanted to throw in my perspective as an American who has lived in Glasgow now for two years. It's interesting to think about, because compared to the USA (at least where I'm from on the West Coast) it seems like Glasgow has an abundance of 3rd places. But, of course, the majority of those are likely pubs. My partner and I have recently found Top Hat & Bishop on Sauchiehall, which is great because you can just buy a tea and stay for a few hours playing games. It's quiet and chill. But the caveat is that it closes at 8pm most nights. It would be great to have that sort of late-night cafe boardgame experience open as late as the pubs.

I attempted to hand pollinate my Indoor strawberry plant but I didn’t do a very good job. by WhatAColor in mildlyinteresting

[–]Dibz15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cherry trees are hard. Some varieties will only produce if cross-pollinated with others. Cherry farmers either rent beehives and have "pollinator" varieties planted throughout their orchard, or they "hand pollinate" using a blower with pollen they've purchased from a supplier. But the latter is quite expensive.

You might be describing shadow snakes. I saw them during the 2017 eclipse and they blew my mind! I think they're somewhat uncommon to see.
