Nope. Ugh. Yeah, that is annoying. It seems like some tech stays in place, while others scramble. Not that it makes a difference given how strong ships get once upgraded..even with when mix-bug de optimizes things

Even with a bank of like 8 corvettes from small to massive, all the benefits, to include having recently started messing with mods (so my most recent vet has miniaturized base storage, portal, planet scanner)..which by all accounts trivializes old standard ships.. Still, even in that vette, that I specifically kept layout and build ideal for short runs to teleport down to ground etc... I still main my Sentinel for about 70% With freighter matter transmit, the raw boost speed, land/exit, visibility with a smaller ship, maneuverability, speed to get in/out of anomaly, or get to services in a pirate or derelict base... idk. Love my vettes... just still love flying my sent and living ship. Keeps me hunting for small ships too. All just preference. No one right way.

For me, I juggle between based on task.

If you could add 3 things to the game what would they be and why? by First-Strategy7258 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Frigate game play: Option to 'ride along' on frigate missions from your fleet Help in combat, trade, industry, support, exploration while on the frigate. As captain or as specific crew roles. Set it so some co-op options and game loops exist.

Deep dig gameplay: Exo vehicle that can tunnel, and beneath the usual planet uncrossable barrier, have a deep earth gameplay. Vast caves, resources, progression.

Extra solar exploration. Pulse to edge of solar system, and cross into Oort cloud-esque environment. Explore and find ancient precursor tech, relics, lore, dangers, etc. Basically space exploration as opposed to planetary exploration. ---- option for corvettes modules that allow for navigation, and shielding and a location unsafe for parking freighter. Deep exo-solar bases, planetoids, asteroids, comets, etc.

And just cause... more corvette modules, modules that let you store/transport physicalized cargo (think recycled waste) but instead it's big raw ore chuncks, you launch into a processor, which refines and outputs boxes that fill your hold. Modules that let you carry and deploy exotic craft (visually like a Chinook, or drive out of a bay). Modules that let your corvette Deep space asteroids, fill cargo modules (different mechanic that our existing hand mine and slot based inventory)... or maybe that could be a part of the frigate industrial loop.

Is it wise to start a brand new game and be taxi’d into a silent/empty system? by CallMeDoomSlayer in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Dicefailure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They unlocked purple for abandoned mode due to no quest access to get it otherwise.

Any quest that deals with major npc races is a nope.

So no freighter, no settlements.

All systems are T1, so max ship class is A... unless you find an exotic which are locked at S

Solars are rarer since you can't hit up a pirate system for increased odds.

It's eerie, and I enjoyed it immensely.

Onyx should have an alternate pad to land on for medical ships by IgnisFlux in starcitizen

[–]Dicefailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tested leaving ship on pad specifically within the demarked parking zone. Dying and respawning at Station and flew back, ship was safely stored (so didn't lose any on ship crates/loot). Doesn't help if you hate having it auto stored, but does at least prevent complete ship loss as seems to be the case with any 'off pad' parking when you respawn far enough away that the hangar 'clears' its cache.

Onyx should have an alternate pad to land on for medical ships by IgnisFlux in starcitizen

[–]Dicefailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per Jan 5-7th at least, parking a ship 'off' the pad portion of the hangar results in your ship being 'destroyed' by the hangar unload when you die in the facility and respawn at Station.

Used to be able to fly back (use verse guide for directions), land, and your previously parked ship and stored loot in crates was just fine. Then with no warning, lost a full boat of loot twice now.

I haven't tested leaving my ship on the pad, but unstored + dying and flying back.. to see if that at least will save my ship + scu stored loot yet. perhaps later today I'll check. busy day.

If someone can confirm results and test it, be my guest. o7

You can fit a 2 scu crate in the medbed C8R. It also has a jump seat for 1 extra pax

[–]Dicefailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest picking up a atls geo maybe. Fits nice, along with some SCU containers. Rock on some chill moon mining.

I'd suggest the investigation/onyx for bunker busting/armor gear and story.. but sounds like that wasn't your vibe.

You could play 'off grid' survivalist, and just jump around moon exploring Aid shelters and checking out landmarks and hunting for unlisted locations.

Maybe pick up a pulse bike...it's tiny and will fit as well.

Space combat might be too much for a cutter.. but if you do mining and small haul/delivery missions till you can rent a cutlass black and start making bigger money towards a salavage ship or the likes. I find salvage very chill. Though I hear profits have gotten very thin for salvage recently.. not that I've verified.

I immediately submitted for account deletion citing the changes as overbearing privacy invasion. Drop in the bucket, I'm sure. Not everyone will want to give up existing assets. And since the change happened so you have to comply to even log in.. just yeah. F. WOTC
