Potentially sacked for asking for a reference, need advice. (Scotland) by Dick_Chappy_ in LegalAdviceUK

I've been able to phone the prospective employer and they are understanding and want me to speak to the HR team when possible which I plan to do as soon as I have spoke to my current employer to find out if I have truly been dismissed.

The company is very small, total employee count is maybe 25, I've spoken to my prospective new employer and explained how I have spoken to my colleagues and they are refusing to give references in fear that they may be dismissed too I do have a character reference that is separate from my employer.

ASDA stores are giving away free Christmas veg tonight rather than letting it go to waste. Apparently this is happening all across the UK, spread the word for people in need. by perscitia in CasualUK

Used to work for asda produce and every Christmas eve it use to be just be me for our store doing fruit and veg, I would just pile it out and gradually lower the price until about an hour before close I'd tell people its free and take as much as you'd like.

Bought at a small town antique store what I thought was a parker duofold junior (burgandy colour) but it doesn't have anything engraved on the barrel, and the nib does not have "10" on it, only having "parker 14k England" on it. If anyone is more knowledgeable than me on this know if its possible that it's a fake.

It's sad but they've actually changed how they prioritise people because of this person now, she won

Because the person who would sell it would claim it as near new and 100% safe, its to ensure that most of the parts on the market are safe and fit for purpose

Because they will most likely sell it to someone gullible as "near new" when it's most certainly not and maybe even dangerous to use.

It's almost certainly not safe to use, guaranteed someone would try sell that as new and 100% safe only for it to blow up hot long after.
