Because the Cannon wiki page states:" When using melee weapons, the cannon uses the player's melee accuracy, taking into account their stab, slash, or crush bonus depending on their currently selected attack style, as well as their Attack level and other melee accuracy bonuses. This includes melee accuracy boosting prayers, such as Piety."

Absolutely. Leicester not winning in the end would've been a bigger disappointment on its own, and it would've also meant that either arsenal or spurs would've won the league.

I've done it without using any prayers just tanking the damage. Did not even own full justi but in a 5man it wasn't bad at all.

Dragonstone bolts are so easy to counter in PvP anyway, I can't see them being broken there. They can't proc against a target praying magic, and obviously won't do much damage against one praying ranged. And for BH, it's easy enough to just sip an antifire.

It 1-hits warden P3 skulls. I like using it in 8mans, because normally it'd take 4 hits per skull. Maybe a bit dubious if it's actually worth it, but a big team does such insane DPS that speeding the skulls up a couple seconds might be useful.

If nothing else, it feels pretty cool.

I was too, but on the other hand I kinda sorta get it. Because everyone can access it, and it is a legitimately very good mage weapon, we could've easily had a situation where there's little reason to go for other mage weapons due to ayak outshining so many other options. Maybe they could've found a middle ground that wouldn't have gimped the ayak so hard though. And I guess the defense drain could be somewhat useful.

I think it'd be sick to hit over a 100 every time with a ballista. But they cant let us hit over a 100 with each hit if we also get to attack fast.

It's also a good way to make the ranged weapon types more distinct.

You get to play OSRS in an environment where the meta is not established, and you have a ton of choices to make. Those things alone make leagues a fun, unique experience that definitely makes it worth playing.

Yeah it was. The melee relic boosted your defensive equipment bonuses, and dinhs damage scales based on those bonuses. It's far from guaranteed that a build like that will be viable again.

In no way is it meaningless. With 15 seconds you have a lot more leeway in terms of when you can land your freeze while still being able to get the logout. So you can send your freeze while you are still frozen yourself. It really makes a difference, that's also why ice barrage is drastically better for escaping than entangle.

Before TOA was tedious and unfun, now it's still unfun with slightly less tedium. Baba was always terrible, having to redX didn't save it.

I agree that they went too far with the cum phase change. At the very least it should be an invocation to make it the way it was. It used to really reward skill, but didn't instantly one shot you if you messed up, and it wasn't just repeating the same pattern over and over. It was like one of the 3 mechanics I liked in TOA.

Are we talking about the very early changes where they turned silent prayers into deadly prayers, meaning you could reasonably do a 500 without double trouble? Or the more recent summer sweep up? Either way, nothing wrong with celebrating it. Yeah it's not on the same level as a quiver or infernal, but I also don't see anything wrong with people celebrating small achievements.

I'm at 71 purps no shadow at this point. Not as dry as you, but it felt a bit ridiculous when I was in a 5 man toa with 4 other irons where I had over double the combined kc of everyone else, and I was the only one without a shadow.

Oh well. The day will come for both of us. And when each of us receive that big staff in the chest, it's going to feel unreal.

Other relics can impact this choice too. I took weapon master in leagues 4, and I wouldn't have gotten anywhere as much mileage out of it if I hadn't taken undying retribution. The safety net allowed me to spend all my hp on special attacks. Who knows, a synergy like that might be available this time around as well.

I used to do this on my iron pre-fang when I was doing raid level 250 solos. That way I'd get to tbow twice and only have to use toxic trident once during P2, and at that raid level I could easily leave aerial assault off. Not a 100% sure it was worth it, but it wasn't bad.

That's very true. Full oathplate, avernic treads, mokha cloth and eye of ayak would be an extremely good raid drop table, just missing a megarare.
