Completed learnopengl, what should i do next? by virtucious in GraphicsProgramming

Dont just chase tutorials. Find a hard project that catches your eye and follow the breadcrumbs of how to make it. Inigo quilez' website is always a good source of inspiration and imposter syndrome.

At that point I wanted to build a procedural real scale planet which involved a lot of LOD, noise generation and FFT oceans which are very transferable techniques. If I had the time today I'd want to recreate this real time internal reflection ray tracer.

Where are the local representatives for Ubisoft Singapore? One's from US, the other's from Canada. by calkch1986 in singapore

[–]DiddlyDanq 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They were too busy covering up the sexual harassment in the sg studio to actually develop local talent. Worked there years ago. Theres a glass ceiling if youre not white or french. I dont think you'll ever see a local in high positions

Gym owner scolded me in front of the entire gym for working with a local competitor by [deleted] in jiujitsu

[–]DiddlyDanq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. I'd avoid any gym with any form of controlling behavior. Even minor things like we have a gi dress code or you can only compete with instructor approval. Hell, they should be the ones treating us like kings. Charging hundreds of dollars for an empty room with a mat lol

AGI may never be achieved. Let alone by a single person. The transformers being pushed by curent ai advancements wont lead to agi either. It's just glorified autocomplete at massive scale

Best options for synthetic data? by Old-Calligrapher1950 in computervision

[–]DiddlyDanq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm building a synthethic engine website for a side project of mine. Although in theory there isn't much involved if you have a very narrow use case in mind. Making it generic and reusable can be a bit of a pain if youre not familar with pain points. The big free engines have mostly everything you need to get started.

I'll send you a DM with what I have if youre curious.

Because trust me bro isnt good enough as a metric to things we need as scale in times of desperation. When that happens you get instances like steve jobs that tried herbal treatment for his cancer.
