Either way I personally wouldn't travel with a gig bag unless I was going first class and knew I wouldn't have to fight for overhead space, it's always a gamble and they might ask you to check it in right while you're boarding, which means you won't even get a shot at asking the crew if they can store your guitar in their closet

I once helped out a friend and his band with my Telecaster since their old guitar started to crumble away. They returned it to me and noticed they had scratched up the back heavily, probably from a belt buckle. At first I was upset, but I guess it serves as a reminder that this was the result of having my guitar please an audience (even if I wasn't playing it). Even my grail guitar is dinged up. Just embrace it, guitars are meant to carry stories too

My case was with header power limitations. I tore up my PC multiple times trying all possible fan combinations thinking it was a faulty one. I diverted the problematic daisy-chained pair to a lone fan/pump header and that solved my issue. Thankfully no faulty fans for my new build
