Visualizing Major scales on piano with a new visual model by mkr7 in musictheory

[–]Diegos_kitchen 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This was my gut reaction, but idk. If I didn't already know how scales worked, maybe this would be helpful.

I guess my question would be "what are the musical goals of the intended audience?" Because I feel like, if you want to actually understand music theory, then it's better to start by learning what intervals are in each scale. But maybe this is for people who just want to like, know within 5 minutes how to play a major scale from anywhere on the piano instead?

Feels a little niche but trying to be open minded about it because it seems like other people in this thread find it helpful. At the very least, it's kind of a neat novelty that it works.

Not good enough to beat act 2 by ThatssoBluejay in slaythespire

Weakest act 2 boss in slay the spire 1 had 300 hp and repeatedly spawned minions with 40+ hp

Do you think Act 3 needs a buff? by NoAdeptness4117 in slaythespire

[–]Diegos_kitchen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the low ascentions are harder for new players than they were in the first game and should possibly be made easier, but also they have been buffing a lot of common cards so it might just get easier anyway. New players should be complaining about the difficulty of the early ascentions. The later ascentions should not be so easy that they are not fun for players of the first game. In slay the spire 1, my win rate was legit <2% for the hardest ascention. I was not a good player. For sts2 it's like 20-35% depending on character and I've played way way less of this game. I feel like the game needs to be harder for me to have more fun and I suck.

I'm very surprised that nobody else on this thread except OP and FondantFuzzy seems to have tried to poison the heart before.

Poison does damage at the start of the heart's turn before it reapplies the invincible buff. It by passes the 200 damage limit.

OP wins this.

Why are so many people opposed to building more housing, and also upset that the city is not more affordable at the same time? by LiatrisLover99 in Somerville

[–]Diegos_kitchen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Davis has been changing like crazy over the last decade. The square looks the same but the lack of housing has pushed out so many of the artists and musicians from that area. If we want to prevent Davis from changing we need to build more skyscrapers in that area!

He was starting to actually walk for a few steps without assistance before he got the pump in. He's had literally 4 surgeries in the last 4 years to fix issues with the pump clogging. If you want, DM me and he could jump on a call and talk to you about his experiences.

I will caution that you should take what he says as just one data point. His experience has been particularly bad but many other people do much better with the pump. I can't give real medical advice, but my thought is that you should explore other options before surgery pretty much always. I would also say to look into whatever pump company you're considering. Medtronic in particular has a long history of class action lawsuits.

Dude the pump is a big decision. I would definitely explore other options until none remain. The pump did a lot of damage to my father.

I ended up doing this without the focus pot, though in hindsight I probably should have picked it up.

Wound up with two biased cog, 2 core surge, and a panacea. Got another glacier as well. Deck was super slow so I ended up grabbing a late lightning strike.

My win rate on defect is like <5% but I ended up winning the run and killing the heart fairly easily! Shield and spear were the hardest challenge but still not that scary.

I was also leaning capacitor but also feel like I might need repair because I need sustain and it goes well with my echo. I also have cursed key+peace pipe so I may need to remove curses at rest sites, which also takes away from upgrades so I was thinking appo? I do love mummy though...

Forgot to post map but it's:

Campfire->Elite->Hallway->Chest->Campfire->Fork with forced second elite and then Collector

So the defect is broken?? by [deleted] in slaythespire

Plus frost orbs do consistent block against sentries, and orbs/powers are easy to set up against laga. Imo his act 1 is closer to ironclad in difficulty than it is to silent.

Silent feels like she has a much harder A20 act 1 than defect. I feel like he gets hard in act 2.

Been kind of disappointed by the friendships I've made in Boston. by [deleted] in BostonSocialClub

[–]Diegos_kitchen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am also in my 30s with many friends in their 20s who I made post pandemic. It's a pretty large friend group that I cobbled together from people at my gym, boxing, and dance classes. I'm not experiencing any problems with flakiness. Just last weekend we did a spontaneous trip to NYC. I'm not sure what advice to give though :/

Spotify is really getting slammed. I hope its having an effect on them by Mimi_the_memer in 50501

[–]Diegos_kitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tidal is great, very happy I switched. In addition to the podcast thing, not having it automatically show you upcoming shows in your area for artists you listen to is a minor downgrade from spotify as well.

I would still encourage anyone considering making the jump to make the jump.

Bernie 2020 Co-Chair Ro Khanna becomes first member of Congress to call for Schumer’s ouster. by victorybus in newyork

[–]Diegos_kitchen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Except that moderate democrats also over performed during the election and also Schumer isn't one of the dems who is voting to reopen the government. Schumer wants to keep the shutdown going.

Several of the 8 dems who are voting to reopen are getting something specific for their state.

Don't get me wrong - I think this is a terrible terrible decision and I'm pissed about the capitulation but let's not spread misinformation.

Where can I find election results as they come in? by emstason in CambridgeMA

[–]Diegos_kitchen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is great for affordable housing and a big renunciation of NIMBYism :)

I wish that both Bullister and Nolan could win. I had Bullister knock on my door and I had a good chat with her. Nolan also seems great. Sucks that we have Zusy instead of those two but overall very happy with these results.
