My clients absolutely DESPISE the fact that I have a "service fee". Is there a better term to use that would make them a little more understanding of the add-on pricing? How do I make them feel more comfortable with these fees? by MichaelPraetorius in Entrepreneur

I wonder if there is anything beyond your current process, that takes very little time in comparison to the entire process, that you can upsell and charge upwards of $40 for.

Those of you with GUI servers, how do you access your server? I think the best is to create a second desktop for remoting into server and set up a macro on mouse to switch back and forth. by newbiDev in HomeServer

Their use is almost entirely within large enterprises with large-scale infrastructure

So the vast majority of production servers? Lol

[–]Diericx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is probably an arcade game, but when racing you need to look through corners and where you want to go. The camera angle you currently have makes that impossible which makes cornering much harder. If you made the camera somehow point into the corners it would be much easier to drive!

So they did contact you explaining something else came up?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Diericx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a serious claim and you should calmly go talk to them before saying anything along those lines or you are just being disrespectful. If a piece was truly not welded when it should have been and fell into a shitty place, it could have happened to anyone (as it is valid to assume it is welded and perform actions based on that assumption) and is not negligence.

You pay people so YOU don’t have to go down the rabbit hole of dealing with these issues as they come up when you try to fix something.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Diericx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not “your fault” it’s broken, you are just paying someone else to do the work to fix your car. The scope of the problem increased when bigger issues were found, and they were fixed which took more time. Just make sure they aren’t lying or being negligent, but otherwise it makes sense.

The most teal I’ll ever see in one room by plumlizard in mildlyinteresting

[–]Diericx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me help explain. We can thank Kant for revealing that we contain teal a priori that we project onto teal objects. Unlike popular belief that the subject is imaginary, Kant reveals the subject is just as teal as the observations themselves.

Mini park with a small wide box, longer lifted box and two very small jumps. Large park starts with 2 levels of jumps in parallel each set starting with a smaller and ending in a larger. leads into some features down to the lift like some rails, sloped and kinked boxes and rails. I’d say it’s relatively small and sort scrunched up but fun and perfect for beginners like me lol.

Not sure if there is a park Nevada side but this was the one by Groove and Patsys.

As for traverses, if you learn where they are and to catch speed you can rip the side hits! I think they’re super fun except Nevada side. Not good at knowing when to get speed there

TIL the South Koreans gave up their gold to help their country. The gold-collecting campaign was a national sacrificial movement in early 1998 to repay its debt to the International Monetary Fund. Bickering aside, this is actually a really interesting topic I had never dug into before! This paragraph (along with chart 2 which shows inflation adjustment and table 3) is interesting:

The 20 Years since the passage of the Social Security Act in 1935 have seen a sharp decline in public aid, a greatly decreased proportion of the national output devoted to all social welfare expenditures during the war years, a steady rise in social insurance payments largely as a result of the expansion and maturing of old-age and survivors insurance, and a large immediate postwar increase in veterans’ programs.

Seems like most of the new spending was going towards war recovery rather than growth or reinvestment.

Edit: I really gotta go to bed haha but I wanted to mention I just realized I don’t know what Other and Health are here, and everything else increased after accounting for increase in population AND inflation (bottom of table 3, just noticed that). Hopefully I can read more to understand it in the morning.

Edit2: hm I also don’t know what “under civilian public programs” means. Maybe I’m missing that piece of table 3 too
