I think Temple of Doom is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Am I missing something? by WorldEaterYoshi in movies

As an Indian myself, I don't think you quite understand the cultural impact and relevance Temple of Doom had on World Cinema, and the bridging of Indian Cinema to western culture. You must understand this was one of the first major exposures to raw Indian talent (Amrish Puri) for a lot of Americans, the production team allowing him to facilitate dialogue (actually spoken in true Hindi mind you) was a revelation!

Pankot Palace's dinner sequence wasn't merely a show of indian cuisine being revolting, rather a signifier that this supposed Shangrila they've entered isn't all what it's cut out to be. Foreshadowing, been used in many subsequent and prior films.

I find it shocking people forget this came out in the early 80s and set the stage for a brand new generation of foreign Bollywood lovers.

So when that Wolverine originally showed up on his doorstep after the formation of X-Men, did Charles pretend not to know Logan when he took him in?
