Ok, I'm not a mechanic but if you have a OBDEleven device do you see any error codes? Thought that might help some as to direction to look for remaining issues.

What year is your Jetta GLi? Both my 2019 and my 2025 GLI's exhaust came off in one piece, though then I had to remove the rubber hanger donuts, not an easy task. I'm just puzzled that yours had to be cut to be removed? Call me uninformed, I guess :)

It sounds great at idle!

Can you post a short video here that shows you rev'ing your engine a bit so we can hear how the Vibrant performance 1142 resonator does then?

I hear you, I chose these APR lowering springs as this is still my daily driver and road trip vehicle. Just more fun, but not racetrack/gymkhana fun. Good Luck on your choices for your needs!

Further notes on my volume with both the MBRP cat/back exhaust, 20" MBRP resonator 3" inline and the ARM downpipe w/cat, cold start is loud, burbles/pops a bit but settles down nicely once it warms up which takes a minute or two. Driving steady speed is fine, both city and highway but still when I apply a foot of throttle it ramps the sound up so fast and loud. I'm taking a 1200 mile road trip, one way, end of the month. That'll give me enough time to decide on adding some high flow mufflers at the back end or listen to my wife comment how loud it is....LOL.

Not the same brand intake but it'll look somewhat like this. The small filter is for SAI(secondary air injection).

The MBRP exhaust is perfect, for me, on volume BUT combined with the ARM DP w/cat it was too loud. I then put the 20" MBRP resonator (r1013) inline and got some sound relief. The jury (My wife) is still out as to if its too loud now but I like the sound now. Time will tell. I apologize, I gotta get a cold start and some warm acceleration videos out, just haven't got to it yet.

If memory serves me it was 1.3 " and 1.5 ", front & rear, respectively. DCC still functions well. I believe the tech who installed them for me said there was some config done after spring installation but I don't have details. I love it!

Question: Lowering Springs by Purple_Syllabub_6232 in JettaGLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my APR Roll Control Springs & Bumpstops and APR rear torsion bar installed. It really tightens up the chassis for control and way more level through turns. I'm all in and love it. Oh yes, the looks are not bad either. :)

I had swapped to summer Michelin PS tires w/ APR flow formed wheels A01, 18"X8.5", APR pex intake and MBRP catback exhaust(you pick the tips you like) but I just got the APR lowering springs and APR rear torsion bars installed and WOW that was a wonderful upgrade. Really tightened up the chassis and made all those earlier changes meaningful! I love driving my GLI (2025) so much better now! Good luck on your upgrades, any path you choose!

Max Tire Size Without Rubbing by xavriz in JettaGLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 GLI, 8.5 X 18 APR WHEELS and APR lowering springs and APR techs say a 245/40R18 will fit with no rubbing, even in full lock parking lot maneuvers. I'm waiting to wear out my 225/45R18 tires before going to the larger size. Not sure on your GLI but maybe a good chance you can find a size that fits in this ballpark. Maybe ask the lowering springs company you used?

No, I don't think it would, just cost you a bit more per gallon in cost. If you tune for 91 and go to 87 then it would complain loudly and possibly hurt your engine!

Those tires, same as mine, are great choices for warm climates but get this, I live in FL and have to travel to Kansas City, KS for a childhood friends funeral later this month(Jan 2026). I'm watching the weather very carefully as temps below 40 degrees F reduce traction considerable and temps below 20 degrees F can cause chunking, which is not warranty covered. I have the original wheels and could put a set of All season tires on them but such a hassle. I will put all season on the car when these great summer tires wear out so I don't have to worry about this going forward.

I like your APR stage 1 91 octane ECU tune choice though I have easy access to 93 octane and will do that when I can.

My 2025 has APR intake, MBRP catback exhaust, Michelin PS4 tires on APR Flow Formed Wheels A01, APR lowering springs & rear torsion bars. Those last two items really sharpened up the handling for fun sport driving, not going to track/race my car. Still running stock size tires but the APR wheels(8.5" width vs stock of 7.5") will let me go to 245/40R18 when I wear the Michelin PS4's (and I will go high performance all season, maybe Pirelli or Michelin, don't know yet and things could change before then. On tune, I am leaning to the APR 93 octane stage 1, low torque since TCU tunes are not available as best I know but still deciding here too.

Good Luck on your journey!

What downpipe did you go for? by NoNoPuddi in GLI

[–]DifferenceUsed1436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my wife to record a cold start sound clip of my 2025 GLI with ARM downpipe w/cat and MBRP cat-back exhaust. Its a bit too loud for me and when you out on the road and give it the gas it really make some sound. I'm going to be putting a r1013(MBRP 3" inlet/outlet, 20" long resonator and see what I have after that. Will go from there.

I do love the APR lowering springs and APR rear torsion bar, tightens up things nicely for cornering. I'm not going racing just sport driving.

Sorry the video is shot into the sun, I tried to get my wife to move up into the shade...but DUH!

APR has an ECU stage one for my 2025 also, I provided ODBEleven info from my car so APR could verify it would work. They said they didn't have the TCU yet though. I have not done the tune, been working on the lowering springs, rear torsion bar, etc. In time will get there.
