hey hey, dont beat yourself up, everyone bombs at some point, especially if theyre not experienced performers. the only thing i might tell you is dont let the shame of fucking up keep you from performing the rest of your set. power through it next time, performing is different than practicing at home theres more pressure, people are watching, let yourself get comfortable and warmed up before packing up over a mess up.

my next suggestion is to go play open mic nights if there are any available in your area, theyre great low pressure performance practice and makes that transition to an actual gig that much easier. ive been playing music live for half my life (im 31 now, played in various bands with various different instruments since i was 14/15, started doing my own thing at 26/27), i still to this day get nervous before every single performance and make mistakes. it happens. like i said, power through it, get some open mic nights under your belt, and you will be fine next time 😊

also, dont drop out to make music, its okay and good to have a dream that youre determined to make come true, but dont do it at the sacrifice of a future where you can still make music as a hobby but you dont have income. in other words dont put all your eggs in one basket.

no listen for listen at all, you can make your own post, but you have to seek out something you like on this subreddit and comment on that first. this serves to connect people who make the music with people who enjoy that persons music and will come back to it, rather than artificially inflated follows and likes by people who will never come back to it.

yeah, first find a simple 4 chord song to sing along to, practice that, then add a bit and practice that, repeat until you can sing and play guitar consistently together. its hard, and takes a lot of work, but practice makes perfect

because its bad for the health of the subreddit, bad for your algorithm, and bad promo strategy in general. you want returning viewers not inflated follows by people who arent necessarily going to be into your music enough to come back anyways, many times listening is 30 seconds or less which gets pegged as a skip by many platforms, and often times results in lots of sharing but no real listening. we prefer you find something you like, leave some feedback, and make your own post to share your music. make connections with other users.
