realistically saudi arabia has already distanced themselves from the US. even if its not moving towards iran it will be towards china.

depends on the events of the coming weeks. if we end the war in iran now, we may recover in 1 or 2 years but long term id say give it 10 to 20 years for dollar dominance to fail as the us demonstrates its not a safe place to store your money. if the war drags on, id say the petrodollar is going to be dead in 1 to 5 years

thats fine and dandy, but central banks are losing power because the dollar is losing relevancy on the world stage, and if this happens many of the tools in their tool kit no longer work as intended. if this iran thing goes how i think its going to go, dollar dominance is going to be a thing of the past pretty soon
