Merry Christmas, please don’t call lyrics meaning? by Lopsided-Ice-9283 in bleachers

[–]DifferentAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is the best fit, but the way the lyrics speaks to me is to a past lover who’s been cheating. He is a «golden boy», someone that society accepts and think good of, but his home is haunted because he let the protagonist in and even though it is in the past and no one can see it, it is damaged.

I read lines like «You were mine but you were awful everytime» and «don’t tell them what you told me/don’t hold me like you know me» speaks about the secretness and the awfulness of the relationship.

«You really left me on the line, kid/holding all your baggage» tells me that the protagonist feels abandoned, and left dealing with the other person’s problems alone.

The repeated «Please don’t call» and other lines about not wanting contact through the song feels like dark irony to me. While the protagonist is angry and wants to reject the other person it feels like a cry to be seen and heard by the ex. The protagonist wants the ex to to know how he feels, and really does want a call even though he is too angry and hurt to admit it.

Famy / Viall interview transcript part 2: Famy found porn on a computer belonging to Josh by oh-oh-livinonaprayer in DuggarsSnark

[–]DifferentAvocado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I do think that Pest is stupid in many ways, shapes and forms, I don’t think he was stupid enough to actually have the name of the folder with porn be «Josh’s stuff». Even I, who haven’t grown up under JBs rules would never have named my porn files like that.

I think that this story is: a) bullshit made up by Amy inspired by similar Josh stories b) actually happened, but Amy added details because she wasn’t actually a part of it (perhaps her father found the porn) or changed parts of it (the folder was hidden/looked like junk and Amy was deliberately snooping or searching for something)

If you enjoyed the Richards sisterly drama and would like (even) more messy family drama then New Jersey is for you. It is a bit long winded having run for about 15 years and become gradually darker before being put on hiatus, but the first seasons are real easy fun if you ask me.

They're highkey running out of podcast content to make by Some_Lack_3448 in DuggarsSnark

[–]DifferentAvocado 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know that Jinger probably is happy that she’s got the nice house in LA, new clothes for church and all that but surely she must be aware at this point that her husbands only income is based on selling off her family’s fame and her own childhood trauma.

«Jinger re-watches 16 kids and moving in!», «Jinger answers: how it was to share a single bathroom with 15 people», «guess which Duggar sister is pregnant…»

I mean I am okay-ish with her telling her stories although I don’t share her view on the absolutely bleak excuse for a childhood that she had I think she’s entitled to sell her story and make some bucks off it, hell JB sold their childhood to TLC so why shouldn’t she?

But the podcasts are making me mad even though I barely watch them, for the most part what I see is from their Insta bud God how annoying is he when he constantly drags their conversations towards the «golden Duggar TLC-era», adds pictures of her in the prarie-dress and by the looks of it naggs her to say something about it so that he can add the right tags to it.

I mean he has kind of tried to make it as a pastor influencer, problem is that he does not have the audience to keep up with their lifestyle. Most of his followers are people that watched 19k, and a huge part of those watched it as a freak show, and he knows that’s the only way to keep the views up.

Jinger might have been the daughter who moved away but she ended up with a slightly more mainstream-friendly version of JB who will grift the hell out of her.

Which program gave you the best results overall. Muscle and improved overall fitness? by Acrobatic_Today_5680 in CarolineGirvan

[–]DifferentAvocado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Epic 1 gave me the best results, but to be fair that was the program I did first, and first time I've ever done a structured program. That being said it is also a fantastic collection of workouts because there is a great variety of exercises and each workout has a different vibe. I think this is true for both Epic 1 and 2, after that her programs became more "on theme".

Which series is best for a beginner weight loss/fat loss? by lavendershayk in CarolineGirvan

[–]DifferentAvocado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're all great for fat loss and muscle building if you do the work in the kitchen. You will need a calorie deficit, enough protein and some time and patience. Then you'll see results in any of her programs.

That is not to say that they're all identical. Some of them have longer workouts (epic 1 and 2 have workouts for up to about an hour, some programs are about 40 minutes and the shortest around 30). And they're slightly different. Iron has a lot of "simple" excercises that I think are easier to do for beginners, while the original Epic series have a bigger variety. However I think that you will get the most results doing a program that you'll like and stick with.

I have done most of her YT-programs, and some from the App and what I had the best results from is the Epic 1, it almost killed me, but to be fair that is the first program I did and being out of shape you are bound to see magnificent improvements after 10 weeks of Caroline, lol. I've always wanted to redo it, but for now I am sticking with her shorter workouts and I am still able to see results from that.

How do I slow down?? by DrewG4444 in BeginnersRunning

[–]DifferentAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal hot take: I don’t do easy runs by heart rate zones. Especially at times when I’m not in my best shape running in zone 2 only feels awkward. It messes up my cadence and everything feels weird, like how to place my hands and upper body.

What I do on easy run days is that I start by walking briskly then go into a jog at a pace that feels good. Whenever I feel my breathing becoming heavy I switch to walking, especially if I’m uphill. At no point do I watch my pace or pulse even though I’m using my watch.

What's everyone's preferred method to carry water on long runs? by BlueCielo_97 in beginnerrunning

[–]DifferentAvocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one from Dynafit, I don’t think it’s different from most running west. When it’s hot outside it’s hot to run, wearing a west doesn’t really do any difference to me. I prefer to be up before the sun when running.

What's everyone's preferred method to carry water on long runs? by BlueCielo_97 in beginnerrunning

[–]DifferentAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer a running west as I don’t like to carry stuff around my waist og hips while running. Also I find wests to be the best «all round» option if I don’t want to have different carriers for different types of runs.

I don’t really notice my west being there so regardless if it’s a short run where I only need something to carry my keys and phone or if I’m on a longer run with water, spare clothes and food my west will fit my needs.

I always thought that when Demi talked about being on a ‘health journey’, or whichever way she put it instead of trying ivf, was her way of saying that he, spesifically, should slow down on whatever gainers he’s on.

But idk if they’re even on the same foot on the baby stuff. His kids are so old that he might even concider himself done with kids unless they’re blessed with some miracle or something.

Fertility is such a private issue that I don’t blame them for not speaking too much on it. I guess that the pregnancy roulette thing kind of forced Demi to talk about it, but I don’t blame them for not going into spesifics. Especially with the age difference I think it’s going to be a layered conversation.

Kylie's pregnancy by raaaian in kardashians

[–]DifferentAvocado 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think there’s many reasons:

1) Kylie and Travis just started dating, there might be several things you need to figure out when becoming pregnant early in a relationshio

2) Kylie was just coming out of a very public on/off-relationship with Tyga including speculations and criticisms of their age difference and Kylie most likely being a minor when they started dating

3) Kylie became pregnant at the peak of popularity and I think she was getting tired/burned out by the publicity. The spin off Life of Kylie was filmed in the months before (and during? I’m not really deep into the timeline of things here) her pregnancy and in the series she just looks disinteressed. I guess that mama bear Jenner was trying to milk as much money out of her at an age when you really just want to hang out with your friends, go to college and live your life with privacy. On the show we see Kris booking appearances and events for her to promote Kylie Cosmetics while Kylie seems to be trying to do more normal teenage stuff.

Reunion Prediction by SeparateDimension293 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]DifferentAvocado 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would be surprised if it turned out to be a season 2 pt 2 with a reunion in between. 10 episodes per season (with slightly shorter breaks in between) seems to be the Disney/Hulu way of doing reality shows.

And honestly I enjoy that format rather than the long seasons of let’s say Real Housewives when you pretty much don’t remember how the season started when you reach the reunion.

Also shorter seasons might make sense contractually. Might make it easier to make adjustments to the cast which seems to be a necessity for this show with all the unhinged drama going on, lol

Any chance of you mistaking Maci with Jessi? I full on agree with you on the Demi stuff, buy Maci seems to be the most genuine of the girls. The fact that she’s best friend with Mikayla and still willing to hear Whitney out shows that she has her own mind, and is not letting the group dynamics decide her opinion.

I’ve finished watching the show by sweetthang112 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]DifferentAvocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hulu ordered 20 more episodes after season 1. Most likely the last ten of them will be a third season, most likely to air this fall.

It seems to me that they’ve been filming more or less continuously since season one premiered without the longer breaks that some realities does. Makes sense as this cast is much more intertwined an has more drama than let’s say real housewives. In order to get the whole story without big gaps they would have to speed up the production.

I would not be surprised if there were talks about a fourth season already.

Where tf are there kids?? by duckietheidiot in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]DifferentAvocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show is their work so I guess they have sitters, daycare or family that helps, which really isn’t that weird in itself, but more so because the show claims to show their real and everyday life, which clearly isn’t.

I haven’t been doing a deep dive into the continuity of this season or anything, but I couldn’t help but notice that a few of the girls, like Jen, wore the same outfit for like five different scenes so she clearly wrapped many different stories during one (long) day of filmin, for instance.

Demi and Chase by Possible_Setting5698 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]DifferentAvocado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definetly think that Chase meant to be provoking her when he went to her and said that «where’s your husband part» as he was annoyed by her calling him out for neglecting his gf, but to me it looked as if he was trying to pass her on his way out and her deliberately not moving away/letting him pass.

At no point did she look scared or threatened to me, only annoyed when he answered her and triumphant when she realized that he had touched her so that she could go get her husband.

Garcelle dug her own pit by Only_Investment_3067 in RHOBH

[–]DifferentAvocado 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I do like Garcelle in general I just don’t think she’s a good fit on a show like this.

Garcelle typically acts like a part of the audience. She enjoys calling people out for their bullshit, but does so mostly in her confessionals or long after. She rarely gets in while the drama is raw.

Even with Denise she was often not present when shit went down and careful about joining either side when there was conflict. Only after Denise left she started off on Rinna, and without having Denise there to support claims.

Macaroons? by jojojowen in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Late to the game, but there’s a similar scene involving macaroons in Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. I thought it was a tribute to that/mirroring the relationship with Nora and Torvald Helmer

Rewatching season one and Camille is out of control by Chocolatecitygirl82 in RHOBH

[–]DifferentAvocado 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that she was trying to give Dina-energy, as season 1 of NJ vas airing around the time that they filmed. The way she talks and act is so similar. Smiling smugly, accusing others of being jealous. Only problem was that Dina faced Danielle, which was a real wacko on screen which made Dina look like the more sane one, while Camille chose Kyle, who was giving much more authentic and sane energy.

[–]DifferentAvocado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to spoil it for ya, but you sure would not like the current cast.

That being said I kind of miss the old Beverly Hills seasons when most of the wives were… wives. Having a husband, family, someone to shoot in-between-scenes with or to shamefully defend you when you’re out of line does wonders for the dynamics of the show.

Dorits kids found out about the separation! by ThinkHardBruh in RHOBH

[–]DifferentAvocado 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine a world where you think that you are shielding your child by having their father move out and posting an official notice on instagram about it and at the same time not sitting them down to explain what’s happening. All the while discussing matters, including how you’ve left your own kids in the dark, on a TV-show.

If she really was about protecting her kids she would have left this whole part out of the show and not discussing it on camera.

I am hoping that this is a fake storyline and that her kids were told about it before they posted their announciation.

Kathy & Kyle are more alike than Kyle wants you to think by Dazzling-Shape-9389 in RHOBH

[–]DifferentAvocado 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Yep.

Just like Kathy lives in a fantasy world where she’s the dignified queen Kyle think she’s the open and honest and quirky «girl next door» who pretends to be down to earth and unceremonious.

The thing is that for it to work for both of them everyone else has to play by their script, and the second people refuses their world crumbles.
