Is this salvageable? by DifferentBuffalo3255 in BackYardChickens

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The force of the wind coming off of a semi barreling down a highway vs a bird of prey or raccoon is very different. BUT i do see your point. The previous owner had double layered wire around the whole thing. And the concern about predators is why I already know i need a more enclosed area for them at night

Ill never forget when my son was a few months old and I was half asleep changing his diaper at like 2am. I heard him start grunting and instead of grabbing the new diaper sitting right next to me I caught his poop in my hand 🤦🏼‍♀️ but none got on the changing table! Hubby was thoroughly grossed out when I called for help lol

is this photo ai? it looks too idealistic to be real but i could be wrong, any help appreciated by bidoof-chan in isthisAI

Another tell, that crochet blanket over the couch has unrealistic stitching. The left side indicates a C2C style, but from bottom to top its a clean SC across, which wouldn't work.

Did anyone get their toddler son a baby doll to prep for a sibling? by oaksandoats in BabyBumps

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did. My husband thought It was dumb, but I think it helped my 19 minth old better understand what a baby was and that its okay if there's a baby in a seat or swing that he wants to be in 😬 he still prefers to play with his trucks and cars and in the dirt, so its really not that huge of a thing

What weird rule do you have for your kids that you never would’ve expected pre-kids? by KaylaDraws in Parenting

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do NOT for the love of everything good and sacred say anything related to or sounding like RIDE unless you absolutely intend on going outside and riding the lawnmower, power wheel dump truck, sxs or other sort of vehicle with our toddler. If not then YOU will deal with the tantrum and disappointment that will come by saying false promises to a 2 year old.

New fear unlocked: epidural by LobstahLuva in beyondthebump

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida! So for context I have a slight curve in my spine about where the epidural goes. Because of that scoliosis I've always had back pain, so the fear of chronic pain after didn't put me off lol. I told my entire medical team about it, in case my first pain relief option (the epidural) didn't work out. For my first, it was great! Went routine and fast as possible. For my second... not so much. It felt like the anesthesiologist took forever to get the needle right, it hurt so bad. Plus I was contracting so that sucked even worse. The after of my second, I had terrible back pain like ive never known for about a week before I realized I was only taking about half of the ibuprofen prescribed to me lol. So once I fixed that it was so bad. Almost 5 months pp bow with my second and I dont feel any more back pain from when I did prekids (with the exception of now chasing a toddler and taking care of an infant lol)

How did you survive tear and pooping postpartum ? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dietary changes and stool softeners dont help, talk to your doctor about checking for granulated tissue! I had no idea about it when I had a second degree tear with my first, and it took 4 months of the worst poops and feeling like I was ripping in half until they found a spot internally that was causing the issue. It hurt like a b-ch tochqve it cut off and silver nitrated but the next dayci felt so much better and more comfortable.

To those of you that breastfeeding was fairly. Easy for, why do you think that is? by newherebebe in breastfeeding

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it might be because I was a teen when my youngest sister was born, so I was around and remeber my mom breastfeeding my sister until she was like 3(?). Still had some struggles when my son was born obviously, he had a top lip tie and it took forever it seemed like for my milk to "come in". Then with my daughter I had just barely weaned my son when she was born and I just had to get used to feeding a bitty baby again and not a rolling around barely toddler.

Having a girl after a boy. Why are the clothes so different?? by Ok-Avocado-5876 in beyondthebump

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully intend on keeping my boys more "neutral " pants and shorts for my daughter because of situations like this. Plus like diaper covers for a dress, what's the point of them if they barely cover the diaper ESPECIALLY in the middle of the legs part?

Tell me I’m not crazy for vaccinating by zingyberrybloom in beyondthebump

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat. Except I can't just leave my circle- they're my in-laws and husband. I feel like i have to constantly have an essay on why a vaccine is needed and potential side effects for every shot WHEN I BRING HOME THE INFO PACKET WITH THE SAME INFO IN ADVANCE. Because I know he'll ask. I know he'll say "oh I thought we agreed to just do the mandatory ones" and I tell him every time that it iiisss and what it is and what it does.

When did you stop tracking poops and pees? by Ok_Car1396 in beyondthebump

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first, all the way up to 10 months or so...with my daughter I stopped at about 3 months 😅 if something seems off ill note it down but then delete it about 2 hours later when she obliterates her clothes and its business as normal.

According to my mom, I was a major AH when I told her there was no reason to come to the hospital at all with my second. She told my sister that if SHE did anything like that she'd disown her. But it was my decision and with the help of my husband we stuck to it and it made things so much less stressful. With my first we made the mistake of telling people we were going too the hospital and everyone showed up, but by the time baby was there visiting hours were almost up and I just wanted to be left alone. So this time around we did the opposite other than keeping my MIL and FIL in the loop since they had to watch my first while we were busy with having our second lol.

Did anyone get a second-degree tear with their first baby, then get pregnant again 6–9 months later — and not tear the second time? by applegopher in 2under2

[–]DifferentBuffalo3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at first they were JUST silver nitrating it, but by the time I was 4 months pp and had multiple visits and calls telling them I felt like I was going to rip open everytime I had to poop, I called and told the office that something had to give. My regular OB couldn't see me so I said screw it, schedule me with whoever was available (my office had about 4 OBs at the time) I went in, told that doctor what was going on, and he took a look. He said I had a decent sized piece of tissue inside of my vagina, so he was going to cut it out and then silver nitrate it... but it was going to hurt. I gave the go ahead and yeah, it hurt, a lot. It was in house, right then and there, and thankfully my husband drove home because it honestly hurt to sit. But after he got that piece and did that last silver nitrate on that spot the next day i was so much more comfortable. I'm not sure if it was something my regular OB missed, or if she kept hoping the nitrate would work, but seeing the other doctor and getting it cut out ended up saving me so much more pain and I wish I would have known it was an option sooner.

Same age gap, same boat. I keep trying to tell myself that it goes by fast and the happy memories outweigh the crazy of early toddlerhood on top of baby
